While your exploring the town, can you randomly see this huge zombie horde chasing a survivor you haven't met and then if you help him, he will like and trust you and you can recruit him?
Good choice to come to Canada, as it will never be a safe haven for zombies! http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/02/13/canada-will-never-be-a-safe-haven-for-zombies-foreign-minister-john-baird-tells-house-of-commons/
Haha well that just clinches it We're not doing anything that advanced really. Most survivors will be barricaded in safe spots, so they can't die before you get to them. We'll probably have outdoor survivors shoot zombies away from them until they run out of ammo, but stay around the area they spawned in.
Not sure how much you can say, but how is the game actually going to work? You say it's a road trip game, so how will that work? Do you drive the car, or does it automatically take you to the next area? How does the free roaming section work? Thanks!
It automatically takes you to the next area as Choose-Your-Own-Adventure choices come up. You'll get options to explore towns and other areas, and sometimes be forced to go through a town that's in your way. This puts you into the free roaming section. For towns, you explore a segment of the town and can go in buildings and sometimes other places like sewers. There's generally a "goal building" that is weighted to have a bunch of loot in it. The segment generally ends when you go back to your car, or everyone in your scavenger party dies. We will do other scenarios too, but this is the general picture of "scavenge" sections.
The Kickstarter is up now http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1297103658/death-road-to-canada-permadeath-road-trip-simulato
It would be really funny and cool if you can do hand to claw combat with zombies (fists), can you cause that would be really funny and fun
woah woah woah woah woah woah woah A new Rocketcat game and I didn't notice it til now? Must've been under a rock without knowing. This looks fantabulous!
So yeah... If you haven't read or seen it for yourself, Death Road to Canada was successfully funded via Kickstarter and also made it through Steam Greenlight
Can't wait! It looks like a more action orientated version of organ trail! Been following this since it was first announced. Is the release late October or November? It was originally October, but it may have been changed to November. Anyone know?
Estimated release date: Fourth quarter 2013 (PC Version). iOS shortly after. There's also cameos (seen from the Kickstarter updates) that will show up as Unique Survivors: -The Anime Club from the webcomic Gunshow by K.C. Green -the guy from "Don't [Poop] Your Pants" from Cellar Door Games -X114JAM9 & The Wizard from Tales of Game's upcoming Barkley 2 -Billy from Vlambeer's Ridiculous Fishing -possibly more Also, an email was sent to Valve's Gabe Newell asking for permission to be featured in the game as a recruit able character. No news of that yet. And lastly, the Paypal site will be up for a few more days. Every bit counts towards helping to add Local Multiplayer after release and Paul's fifteen kids.
