Here is an iPad Retina screenshot. You guys be the judge! http://www.defenderchronicles.com/dc2/ipadretina.png
teh_ninja, no price announcement yet. But it will be fairly priced. Today star is... the Spiderling. A weak R1 unit but always come in a sudden and in large number. Make sure you have Rangers, Lizardmen, or Cavaliers ready when they come out! Favorite quote: n/a
Awesome, thanks for the quick reply. I'll be buying this regardless of price. Will this run on a 2nd gen iTouch?
soldat7, the change won't be too visible considering iPad screen is only 10' diagonally. But we'll consider it if there are many iPad retina users.
Sorry, jumped the gun on that on. It's sadly too late, if the release date is to be maintained. It will be in the first update though
Love these sorts of posts. I'm loyal to developers too - but I would never say 'insta buy' without actually finding out if the game is good or not...
How will you find out if it's good or not? You've already heard from one of the TA writers, and a few of us beta testers -- it's a great game.
You obviously haven't played Defender Chronicles then. The first game took up my whole summer of 2009. These develepors listen to the community and made an amazing game with continued support and updates for a long time. There's no point in doubting the second game, it will be great. I think I'm not the only one when I say this probably the first big release of 2012.
It will be a good rpg/tower defense game, although that is something that isnt for everyone. I expect I'll stay interested long enough to clear the "normal" modes. Clearing the extra difficulties is likely several times more grindy than the normal modes (on purpose) just like the original. So I wont do that, but I'll still get my money's worth I expect.
This is one of the best selling points. Their forums were very active and they took in all user comments and tried to give what we wanted. Need to get in the habit of using it more myself! Speaking of, will the extra fast forwards be in this? I remember that being a huge request and great when it happened.
Many many long fun hours spent in this game. Spoiler I beat 1.4 Heroic Siria with general without regalia 50 stats I hope it isn't that challenging again though because I spent 5+ hours figuring that out lol. Instant-buy for me.
It goes up to 4x speed just like the first one. But it needs to be unlocked first just like te first one.
Fewer clicks? Are there fewer clicks to launch a map this time? At least a quick launch option? Once I got past the standard stages in DC1 and started to grind, it was so frustrating having to click to launch, click difficulty, click on the first storyline message, click on the second message, click on the tap to continue screen, click on the help/layout screen, and then finally start playing the map.
Defender Chronicles was both the first iOS game I discovered and really enjoyed, and my first disappointment. This was my first exposure to IAP, and how it could ruin an otherwise great game. If there's anything that begs improvement, it was their business model.
