Thanks I am spending all my time making updates to the game. The great thing about roguelikes is that there is so much potential for adding new content and making improvements. You be better off and not buying the game yet until version 2.1 is approved by Apple. This should hopefully happen this Friday coming. I just want to make sure you play the latest and best version.
Hello all, Version 2.3 of Down In The Deep is now available on the app store https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/down-in-the-deep-roguelike/id846774476?mt=8 What's New in Version 2.3 : - Added breakable barrels (with random loot drops) to the dungeon levels. - Trap chambers are now marked on the dungeon level mini-map once discovered. - Players can select the maximum dungeon levels when starting a new campaign. Ok some impression here. Art style and tileset seem reminiscent of war hammer iOS version. Subtle yet nicely done background music that boost more than detract from the play style. Gameplay in real time seem to revolve around fight monsters as you delve to the bottom of dungeons. Preliminary impression on gameplay having fought til lv 9 on the first dungeon on hard difficulty seem to involve tapping my Mage round n round in circle avoiding damage from ball spewing mobs whilst my own wand spewed their own balls to beat the mobs down. The lack of diversity at the early stages in my form of attack mode or even monster attack mode detract great from my personal enjoyment of it. On flip side the play may be aimed at being friendly on beginners but IMO could use an early ramp up in the introduction of spells n skills that can be used in combat. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback. It is tempting to throw a lot of stats, combat options etc... in a roguelike game but most casual mobile users will be put off by this. So I am attempting to try and get the "middle ground" in terms of how complex the game is. The player can still gain xp and level up to increase attributes, customize the player character with equipment and also use spells. At the moment I am making an update so the player can also unlock special character skills when leveling-up. Some of these skills will affect combat. This will make each game more unique as the player will have to decide on what skill they want to unlock when they keep leveling up.
Could you let me know what you would like to see added / changed to make the game more enjoyable for you? I am open to all ideas
Down In The Deep is now available for 0.99c! Version 2.4 is going through App approval with the following new changes : - Added moving mist to the dungeon levels for atmosphere. - Fixed the player sometimes going outside a wall during combat. - Fixed a bug with the GUI player attributes when boosted / reduced. - Fixed a bug when setting the furthest dungeon level reached after falling through a trap floor. - Replaced some GUI images.
I am having great difficulty installing the game on either of my iPads. Air, and mini retina. Tried downloading direct to ipad and install via iTunes. When downloading on iPads, it just goes into 'waiting' and won't download. Installing from iTunes, it will download but then foes into waiting. I purchased on the Australian store, and will request a refund unless the problem can be resolved. And yes, I have tried rebooting both iPads but no go.
This has nothing to do with the game. Give it a bit of time before downloading again as there could be an issue with the App store.
