Can't wait to give it a go again next week! I've been wanting to play this one again since leaving my first impressions. Thanks for the hard work.

I had such a bad impression of the last Duke game that I'm not keen on this. Looks like they've made a mess out of the controls again. Looks good though might get it.

    It's definitely not a mess.

The controls are okay. I look forward to the update so I can resize the controls for the iPad, but that's it.
They could easily remove the kick button, I never used it in the PC version as far as I remember. Who would kick when you've got a shotgun?

This game can't really be compared with the DNF, as that was an inadequate FPS.
This is an excellent action platformer.
Great fun, and much better than the majority of similar games on the iOS platform.

    Yes! The controllers are supported.

    ADDED:

The MFi controllers are supported under iOS7 only. The reason there are no games supporting MFi controllers in previous versions is because Apple only added support for them on iOS7. It's not a matter of lazy developers, the thing simply didn't exist before :)

At first it might look crazy with all those buttons but they surprisingly work really well. I do agree that they could get rid of the kick button and perhaps you automatically kick someone if you're really close to them

But the controls work very well, its a great action platformer

As others pointed out, IAPs are completely optional and nothing was done to incentivise people buying them. Those who hate IAPs can just ignore the store.

Ok guys.. You want iCade, you'll get iCade.

Will support it in the next version 1.1.0 :)

Please note that v1.0.9 will come out without support for iCade because Apple is already reviewing it. Next one will support. We'll announce it here.

Ehh, this is a decent port but shows its age. The onscreen controls are fine, but the actual game mechanics are clunky. Jumping up to grab that pipe was terrible. Overall it is a cute and simple romp, but there is a very cheap and unpolished feel to it, even though the graphics are overall quite good. I dunno, none of the shooting animations really line up, overall platformer control is quite dated (there is ZERO 'in air' control), and it just feels like something from another era.

What this game REALLY does is make me wonder why they haven't ported 'Shadow Complex' over to iOS and Android. It would be as big and amazing as Bastion.

Hum... I'm not seeing the connection between 3D Realms and Shadow Complex.. They have a game called "Shadow Warrior" though.. and it's on iOS (by General Arcade). Also can't see the connection between Shadow Complex and Bastion - two completely different games here.

I'm just curious, you're all playing with the iCade itself or some other game pad that uses the iCade protocol?

I'm mostly using the 8-Bitty, although I've got an Icade.
