Hey again... Put up a page for the game now:

    http://www.gamerealism.se/

Everything is still very much under construction, but we will be accepting beta testers very soon. So if any of you guys are interested, please sign up! Also feel free to invite friends etc to testing, the more testers we have the more robust multiplayer will become.

Wow. That looks great. Where do we apply to beta test? I want in for sure. The multiplayer is going to be an awesome feature.

    Mike,

    Have pm'd you re testing.

Like many people, Elite is one of my all time favourites. I played the original BBC micro version when it first came out.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing the final version of your app in the store.

    Thanks,

    Ralph

I struggled with the inferior Electron version (the Electron was the BBC Micro for poor people !) but still managed to get to Dangerous saving my save game on audio cassette with my mum shouting at me because my tea (dinner/evening meal is called tea in northern England) was getting cold !

I just saw this thread and I want to give my support to the dev. Thanks for doing this ! I'm really looking forward to buying this.

    bigred447uk, thanks!

I actually like the retro versions (Cris and I bought some old machines just to compare and play the various 8-bit versions!)..

We could still use a few testers, so if anyone still feels like participating please head over to our forums at: http://www.gamerealism.se/forum

Also, if anyone has any tips on where I can scoop up some more testers I'd be very grateful..!

Would love to test this one, please PM me if you need UUID etc.

We're not using Test Flight yet, but I have read and seen good things about it.

    help please

Does anyone know how to aim to shoot ships?
I can seem to direct my ship to look up and down but am having
no luck trying to look left and right. The view spins more than anything.

    Thanks

gemineye62, it takes practice, practice. Generally you want to roll the ship first until the lollipops are in front of your ship (horizontally) and then climb up or down until the lollipop stick disappears (which means it is in the same plane as your ship).

You can only pitch up/down and roll. To turn right, you have to rotate 90 degrees clockwise, then pitch up. Takes a little getting used to, but works quite well since there really is no "up" in space, this is a true 3D combat simulator, you're dealing with thrust and vectors, not an airplane with wings.
