It's a sidescroller brawler/platformer/RPG-lite. The best comparison is Trine (it uses the same 3 character structure) but focusing more on combat that physics puzzles.
That icon is... noticeable? I am really suprised you didn't use the T/Tree from the logo as your icon, it is much simpler and more appealing to the eye.
OH MAN! So you can switch off between three characters at anytime?! You know what would be amazing is up to 3 man CO-OP! YES!
Looks like a pretty competent Trine clo- I mean, Trine inspired platformer. I will wait to see what people think of the in-game currency's implementation, though.
Well, minus much of the physics- and puzzle-based mechanics. Evertales is said to be more action- and braw-oriented. While I am excited for the game in general, I must say that the hands-on left me less excited. The part of the game shown in the video looked monotonous, and the video presentation was a bit muddled, with Josh's lack of enthusiasm transferring to me as I watched it. (Not to mention that I prefer my humour to be more than just the bare minimum of overt, simplistic in-yer-face parodies. "The Tavern of Fetch Quests" and "The Darklord of Darkness" made me lose a little of my enthusiasm for the narrative.)
