I have played and finished both games, FFT multiple times. Both are great games, with FFT being superior in my opinion. You don't learn new abilities via weapons. You gain JP during battles and you simply buy the abilities you want. Much more serious storyline. On the downside there are not multiple races. Just humans. Bottom line is if you enjoyed FFTA you will enjoy war of the lions.
