First of all, welcome to TouchArcade. Thanks for taking our feedback into consideration. That update, as simple as it is, sounds fantastic. You really do have something special in your hands with Freedom Fall and I hope it's doing great on the App Store, Desura, etc. Certainly deserves it.
Awesome news! The game looks fantastic but, due to current controls, I am not able to continue playing and still enjoy it. Came to just give my input, I will hold off until the update though...
I hope you can get it fixed for people with the iPod Touch it won't work on my 5th Gen btw. Thanks so much and I hope to get to play the game very soon.
New update out! Hi everyone, me again! Just wanted to let you all know that a new update has been released! Here's the patch notes! - Fixed iPod Touch - Added d-pad controls - Changed non-dpad touch controls - Made wall-jumps and climbing out of the water easier - Made blue checkpoint loads faster - Added character animations You can change the controls to d-pad in the pause menu when you are in the game and that we have also changed how the original controls work. Please add Game Center. That's the one thing stopping me from pulling the trigger. I mean, you are a charging a really premium price.
I want to love this game, but the controls are still frustrating. The d-pad is better but consider having it move around like in Maximus, Trial by Survival etc. the problem is that with no physical dpad, it's easy to get off center whe. You take your finger off which then means you are hitting the wrong direction and DEAD.
Game is alot better with the dpad finally I can play this! Dpad and jump button are too centred on the iPhone 5, not sure if there set like this for the 4 or not, but it would be great to be able to move them and perhaps reduse there huge size so the screen is more visible? Anyway, great title now and works well
Holy carp! This game is fantastic! The default controls arent working for me, but the dpad made me feel like i have more control. What made this game great is the level design, and the twisted writeup found on the walls. Damn dat princess is a B.
Is this game worth $4.99? I will definitely buy it at $1.99. I was going to buy it at that price then they increase the price on the second day after the release lol.
All i can say, is that this is one of the best platforming games I have played on iOS. Stages are huge and so well-designed, and the writings you fin on the wall gives this game so much character and emotion, which sinks into your skin everytime you die. $5, no IAP, all hardcore platforming and gritty fun. WORTH.
4 out of 5 from Toucharcade But reading that review, I could not figure out what cost the game a star. Not one negative thing in the review, even the stuff about the controls was less negative and more that the game is better suited for tablets.
Well, whatever that is, i think a 4 is a good number to be at. Personally, i gave it a 5, because of how the writings on the wall mesh with the difficulty of the game, which sets the mood of being held prisoner by what started out as an annoying spoiled princess and turns out to be a sadistic psychopath. Everything else mentioned in the review i agree with.
