They're definitely rebuilding the game, I say this with confidence as it's also been announced on PS3 and 360 so they'll be doing a good deal of hi-def optimizing as well.
Asphalt 5 looks like a HUGE step up from Asphalt 4, maybe it will surpass Need for Speed in terms of gameplay and fun Anyway, when will this game come out?
yes they are.....its kinda strange.haha they started out slow.....but now theyre startin to whoop some gaming market ass. anyway...ooooooOOOoooooOOO! earthwaorm jim! i loved that game when i was younger(im 24...i dont want to sound like some old ass man).....it was rather difficult but oh so awesome! it was just a funny concept i guess....i dont really know what drew me towards an earthworm action hero....but i do remember it was a fun/good game. cant wait.....and i guess the other 2 will be cool.haha
The first picture of Asphalt 5 looks Waaay too good to be true, it has better graphics than some PSP games. Shrek Kart looks really fun, sorta like Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D. Earthworm looks good as well but I've never played the original so I wouldn't really be able to say much about it. Gameloft seems to be pumping out a lot of high quality games this year that I look forward to.
Today I was looking on YouTube and I found a vid of Shrek Kart. It looks awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLxYSkJ_0Bc I "think" this is the real trailer thing, but I dunno since I just searched shrek kart iphone in youtube, so I dunno if this is real or not but I think it is so... yeah. Does anyone know if this is the real thing?
The first image is prerendered, it is not in-game footage. The graphics have antialiasing, which is a dead giveaway. I hate when companies do this crap and pretend the footage is real.
Between EA's NFS: Shift and Gameloft's Asphalt 5, I'm torn lol. I guess it'll come down to the whole in game purchase issue because in Asphalt 5 I really don't want to have to pay an extra .99 just for some stupid car or track. That whole idea just sounded ridiculous to me. I'll probably end up getting both but no DLC for me.
Maybe they have an option to turn it off for some slower models. Just watched some footage from the WWDC demo and it seemed on par with the screenshot.
I'm leaning towards NFS: Shift for now, I really liked NFSU and was not that impressed with Asphalt 4. The controls were not to my liking. Gameloft hasn't really impressed me yet and yes I have Gangstar.
No, the iPhone is not capable of antialiased 3D graphics. Aliasing is difficult to see in motion, which is one of the reasons it doesn't matter all that much in fast motion games. The reason screenshots of these games look bad is that you can see these jagged edges that would be smoothed out by video. What Gameloft has done is render frames in advance on the computer with the edges artificially smoothed out, to try to capture the way it looks in video. I don't have a huge problem with that if they put a disclaimer on the pics saying that they're pre rendered, but I don't like it when they claim to be in-game, or don't say anything on the subject at all. They need a disclaimer.
