im wondering the same, i mean its true you gotta start somewhere right? im assuming whenever you get the email, they'll send it to you.
They email you the app and mobile provisioning file, both of which you just drag and drop into iTunes and then sync your iPod/iPhone. The E-Mail will typically contain installation instructions. As to the experience, most developers tend to pick a handful of people from all levels of experience; however, every dev. is different.
