yeah, it is. i mean... theres no empire building. but you can command battles in the total war sense of the word. the only difference is that the battle map and movements in great battles medieval are divided into tiles. but you can move your armies anywhere over them........ instead of only forward like total war battles :/
I just had the first build in and it looks really good. There are a lot of tweaks and improvements we want to make but good to see it all up and running on iPad!
release date wait... so is this game being released in june or not. ive had my hopes pinned on the 28th.......... for some reason
As no screenshots have been released I don't know what you are judging. However here are the first batch available on Pocket Gamer! http://pockettactics.com/2012/06/28/first-look-great-battles-medieval-ipad/
Graphics look amazing. But when is the release I love the graphics... But when is the release. I thought it would be in june
I actually asked Iain today on the Slitherine forums for an update and he said things are coming along slowly but surely and that he had many UI changes to review. That was all he said so no exact time table yet. I don't even know if they have started beta testing it yet but I do wish we could get a little more clarity on what's going on. I can honestly say that this is the ONLY iPad game I am actually looking forward to right now or that I really even care about. The wait is killing me as I have already played this game on XBOX and it it's awesome... although it will greatly benefit from touch controls as the console version is a bit of a chore to control with a control pad.
yes definitely intrigued by this one. Reminds me at least the graphics do of an old xbox game but that was semi real time but now I much prefer turn based games.
Its taking longer than we expected because we're really trying to polish the UI for the touch screen. We've had to throw away some work and redo it because we weren't happy with how it was progressing but it is getting better day by day. I think September is mostly likely right now.
Thanks for the update on GBM, I hope to see it next month. Now, I just watched a developer video updating the release of Panzer Corps for the Ipad, to be released Christmas 2012. Since GBM and Panzer Corps were both pushed out their 2nd quarter and 3rd quarter release time frames, is it likely Field of Glory for Ipad will also be pushed out of its 4th quarter release date?
It would be great to be playing it this month but I'm happy to wait as you guys put out quality products. This should scratch my Rome: Total War for iPad itch.
