How much different is the demo than the whole game? I'm just not familiar with ios demos aka lite versions coming out before the game.
The demo shows most of the gameplay of the full game. The last polish is still being done but pretty much. While we finish up the rest of the game we will keep an eye on what people think of the demo and based on that decide if changes are needed, that's one of the reasons we want to put out an early demo. That said, the first release is a limited version of the vision we have for the game, this one being a fairly simple shooter, whereas the game we would like to make long term includes RPG, business sim and multiplayer elements. Hopefully the experience from this release will help shape the direction of the game design.
Not yet, they are still sorting our registration as App Store publishers, not being a U.S. company it is a pretty arduous process.
We were a little delayed because of the Apple registration process, but that is sorted now. While waiting we decided to include some additional game features in the demo (drug dealing, recruiting, buying cars & property), so this has delayed the timeline further, but hopefully it should result in a cooler demo. At this point my best guess for releasing the demo for all platforms is about a month from now.
Hi guys, thanks for sticking with us The game is full steam ahead. We have had a beta available on Android for a few months now (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=webworks.gangsta) and feedback has been very positive, with a lot of guys logging some serious game time. Apple doesn't allow beta or otherwise incomplete apps in the app store so that has held os back there, but the game is fully playable in the browser: http://www.gangstagangsta.com/play Remember that this is a 100% cross-platform game, which means you can play online in your browser, then pick up your phone and continue playing right where you left off (not in the mobile browser but in a proper mobile app). It is one of the first games of its type to provide this functionality. A few days ago we did a big release, which was actually the final beta release, and means that the first version is now functionally complete. We will do a little playtesting and then submit the IOS app for approval. So it should be live in the app store in a couple of weeks if all goes well, but feel free to get the jump on it in the web version. Feedback is welcome!
