They've beefed up their engine a lot from IV, that struggled on console and paled in comparisons to other open world tech. This looks great.
Same here. I wish it was available on PS4 because a) I'll be using the PS4 a lot and b) early hands-on previews suggest that as great at the game is, it's becoming increasingly obvious which areas would be improved by releasing it on newer technology. It's interesting to note that the early screenshots released by Rockstar look noticeably better than the new video does, the shot ot the canyon with the bridge has a whole hillside of trees and bushes missing. PS4 would have fixed that. It'll probably be on PC eventually, possibly along with a load of new bugs, as usually happens with GTA considering PC just isn't their priority. I probably wouldn't buy it on PC, GTA has been a console IP since the beginning and should remain so, it's such a brilliant example of console gaming done right.
I'd exchange the entirety of New Zealand for a Wii U version or a non-absurdly buggy PC version Trust me, we can do stuff like that
That's why you trade the entire continent for an early (finished) copy of the game for us here in New Zealand!
Yeah, just read through 30 or so reviews of it. This is going to be the highest rated game ever by the looks of it. Well justified to be fair but those review scores are extraordinarily impressive either way.
If this doesn't get a PC port, I might snag me a PS3 just for this, RDR and The Last of Us. It looks too good to be missed.
And that's before you get online. Rockstar think GTA V is around 30 hours longer than GTA IV was, and that took me 70 hours to 100% with a bit of messing around time and then some rushing towards the end. Now of course, plenty of devs have a tendency to overestimate these things, but if they say there's more content than the previous game, that's not a terribly difficult thing to measure when you look at it in pure numbers, so there's a good chance it'll be true.
This games actually got me thinking about buying a PS3 as well and if I do that it will probably cost Sony a PS4 sale.
