Amazing graphics, that's for sure, and I like that it appears there is stuff going on multiple levels (helicopters can freely pass over boats). Am I right, however, in my assumption that you don't even need to hit the pier/dock but just that "area" (like anywhere along the "Red Island")?
There's actually 3 layers from what I can see from the video. Air, sea and underwater (subs, love that!). We actually toy with an idea and was going to develop something pretty similar a couple of months ago. Basically, you play with landing planes (flight control) and directing ships across a river with bridges and controlling traffic across the bridges (cars)
While you may have given away too much, damn, that would be the ultimate traffic flow game! Playing FC, HM, and one of these Traffic Light games all at once!
LordGek, you are absolutely correct about the docking. After play testing for months, we found the gameplay to be a lot more fun if you simply routed to the general area. The area/port lights up when you touch the boat/sub/helicopter to make it obvious as things ramp up. We wanted to make the play more about collision avoidance rather than docking precision. I'll look forward to getting your input when you play it. Thanks so much for all of the posts so far and for the support in general, we are very excited to get this in your hands. Best, The Backflip Team
Hahaha, I don't know about that, I feel traffic management wasn't really that appealing to many from seeing all the traffic management games come and go.
looks pretty nice, however, i hope they include something more obvious for differentiating boats/destinations than the washed out colors in the video. color blind people will pass this up in droves. even though we don't want to. there's several of these line drawing games like this already. ignoring color blind people i mean.
