Thanks. I should have opted in earlier. Only got interested in the game after watching some videos on Twitch.
This is the equivalent of digital crack. Once FTL and Hearthstone are out on iPad, it's gonna be really hard to be productive again
It might be released pretty soon, actually. Or not so soon. It' Blizzard, you never know Open beta and release was pretty unexpected. So might the ipad version be.
Love Blizzard or hate them, its impossible to argue that they don't know how to run a business. My guess is that they are going to test the market before they bring these games to mobile devices, remember that they need to extend the Battle.net framework to mobile and keep that updated, so its a lot more involved/expensive than just porting a game.
They said that they are working on an iPhone version but the iPad version will definitely come out first.
This will mostly come out this month. I've posted the reason of this in the news article thread but someone deleted it without giving me an explanation so I won't post it here again. Hint: a user in the battle.net forum posted about it
I played the game on my PC last night and didn't realize that an hour had passed...its pretty entertaining, especially if you are fan of the Warcraft lore. It has the typical Blizzard ultra-high graphical quality that you would expect. The way the IAP works is that you can buy additional decks of cards which have guaranteed higher quality in them, so its the preferable way to waiting for random cards (you get random cards through regular play). However there are quests in the game and I got a free deck for completing one of them, so it definitely seems possible to have fun with the game without spending any money. The UI was born for a mobile device, so it will be a great fit. Its actually a little cumbersome with a mouse, I kept wanting to drag stuff around on my monitor.
It wasn't deleted, it was never posted. Anything with a URL (or resembling a URL like "battle.net") gets sent to a moderation queue to avoid having front page comments riddled with Viagra spam.
