Yeah i know...thats what made it so sweet. Couldnt really afford to buy this now. Woulda had to get another GC which aint in the budget this week. By the time i do have one, it'll most likely be pulled. But dont gotta worry now tho.
No sales tax in oregon. Live right next door to it so i should know. Not sure if there are any app store taxes tho.
Ok....first off, get this game soon as it hits the App Store. Cause it WILL be pulled, trust me on this. Quick impressions...(more detailed one coming later.) The game loaded up really quick here. When i got to the main menu, the choices were either play game or credits. After clicking play, i was greeted to a really good animated film that got me into the game. After it finished, it faded into the play screen and Hector, your main character, was in my control. Standard point and click thats easy to control. Nuthing cluttered about it or the play area at all. Bottom of screen has your inventory. Double click an object, and he'll put it in there for your automatically if he can. If not, he makes a wise arse remark about it. (like when i asked him to fish something out of a toilet i needed.) A single click has him inspecting things. Like the standard point and click, you have to click on everything to find something you might need. But responses from Hector are never absent. A little icon on bottom of screen lets you see what the controls are, which are very few. A simple HUD that doesnt make you go thru needles amounts of clicks to get anything accomplished. Excellent graphics and sound. Game saves automatically when you exit game. IMO, this is a winner, and i aint even outta the first room yet. Just make sure ya get it before Apple gets wise. Is it actually more offensive that GTA:CW? In my experience, Apple is less concerned about prurient content than about cheesy prurient content. They're like the snob who only likes softcore porn if it's made by Bertolucci. A well-made game will most likely not get pulled, as long as the content is not overtly pornographic.
HAvent played GTA CW yet. Guess it depends on Apples definition of overtly and ours. Dont really want to spoil any of the fun of the humor in the game tho. I'll hide the text, so those that dont wish to view it dont have to. Warning...game spoliers and POSSIBLE OFFENSIVE MATERIAL to sensitive members. When looking for an object, i found a condom. When hector gave me a description for it, he said the name brand was "Coachpokers" . Unoffensive to me, but dont know about Apple. End spoilers.
From the trailer it didn't look too bad. Even the porn shop wasn't too bad. The only thing from the trailer that I think they'd find objectable is the shape of the rug (if you caught that), but overall it looked like it'd be on about the same level as GTA. Regardless, this game is going to be GREAT. Btw, the spoiler you gave wasn't that bad. I think most of us have heard worse throughout our daily lives. Plus, it's no worse than GTA, so if that's about the average amount of content, it should be fine.
Yeah, i know we've all heard worse. Just didnt know if Apple would approve. Went thru ll the warning and whatnot here just cause of spoilers for game players and to cover myself for possibly posting something that someone from somewhere might object to. Forum posting rules kind of thing. That certain thing mentioned in the hidden text was funny as it is, how he, umm, uses it in the game is just as good. ANd make him do everything you can click on. Its his comments that are great in this game. Also remember to double click on inventory objects for further inspection. I was a bit stuck for a short time till i did. Just a heads up for ya.
