I'm on my 2nd iPhone. I was mugged for my first one about a month after I got it. The latest one has been with me for over a year now.
I actually needed to consult Wikipedia to figure out how many iPods I've had: - an early-ish 40 GB classic iPod with a grey and black screen - a 60 GB iPod Photo - a first generation 1 GB iPod Shuffle - a 64 GB iPod Touch that I just got back in January, after going through two Zunes in two years
I'm still on my iPod touch 1st Gen. Got it the week after it came out. The oldest iPod touch and still going strong.
I got a 1G the year it came out as a gift (since I didn't go on this $400 or so 3 day field trip). This Christmas, I got a 2G (even though it says 3g on the reciept...), mostly for the external speaker, better graphics, and bluetooth. I ended up giving my 1G to my dad.
I'm on my 3rd one. i just purchased (yesterday a 3gen.64gb itouch) i have a first gen.8 gb itouch(not enough storage space) and a 30gb photo video ipod with a cracked screen that still plays. thinking about investing in a ipad.
Never owned the previous iPods but my iPod Touch 2g seems to be still kickin *knock on wood* just fine. (though the battery life has never been good) I just got the iPad though and while I thought it might replace my iPod (since I mostly used my iPod for apps and such) it doesn't seem like it will. (iPad is great though) There's just too many games still only being made for iphone/iPod and some of the controls don't work that well on iPad. Might end up buying a new iPod touch and iPad every few generations. In the end its been worth it though as much as I use them.
I have owned Ipod Mini, Died Ipod Nano 16gb, sold to buy ipod touch Currently on Ipod Touch 3G, still going strong.
None so far... I didn't get an iPod until last Christmas. I'm was one of the unfortunate souls with a generic brick mp3 player that only had 2gb and a blue pixel LED screen. Thank god for the 64gb Touch
