How to market an iPhone game on a 15-year-olds budget?

    Jamesallen, first of all, Congratulations on launching the app. It’s a massive achievement and you did a great job on Save Gloop.

    Regarding marketing with a non-existent budget, there are lots of things that you can actually do and some of them were mentioned here. One of the interesting options that you may use is the App Store Optimization which is totally free. It’s a bit harder to optimize for games than for productivity tools but if you use the right keywords you might be able to get some nice, free traffic from there. Some strategies with games are to either try to target the other keywords used by other game apps (you may check at services like appstorerankings.net) or target the game names.

    Apart from App Store Optimization, another interesting tactic that wasn’t mentioned here might be to actually cross promote your app with other developers. Since you’re new and you don’t have much of an audience that will be very difficult. Perhaps, you can cross promote with other new developers like other kids who are also doing it. That might be an interesting shot to get some free traffic and cross promote each other.
