Looking like Taito not going to support Icade after all, now that they built their own. But seriously one button, even with built in speakers and a charging dock who's going to buy that? The Icade may not have built in speakers and charging docks, but it has an ideal button layout for gaming and plenty of support from independent devs and the community. Personally I think the Icade is a great piece of kit.
What a shame. The Taito cab is overpriced and terribly designed (one button?!). iCade hits the sweet spot for price/features IMO. All we need is more dev support. Too bad we probably won't get Taito now.
yep, absolutely cracking. Couldn't play that with Taito's one button machine. Good one, Mr Minter. 30 Years and still top of the game.
I'll second that what a great video using quotes from this thread, before letting rip with the action. Another buy for me
Android support for icade No Gravity is the first game for ANDROID to be released with compatibility for the ION iCade! Available now.
Perhaps a future update with iCade support for Vertex Blaster http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=1922512&posted=1#post1922512
I've noticed Vertex Blaster has icontrolpad support. Wasn't the SDK for icontrolpad altered to be similar to the Icade SDK?
There really wasn't an "SDK" for the iControlPad. A few months ago, I did up an example project that formed the basis of iControlPad work. Note that a couple of users evolved the code a bit; one of those users being "scarnie". Once the iCade came out, scarnie used the knowledge we gained on iControlPad to create an iCade version. The iControlPad added a mode that was compatible with the iCade, and the rest is history.
Thanks for the news... I buy now and will try it And I have also seen that Puzzle Bot and Asteroid Dust have been updated... probably with iCade support. To be confirmed.
