That brings me back to the days of Ikaruga. I both love and hate shmups, as they're the type of games that are deliciously ego-stoking to beat, but controller-wall-throwingly tough. I dig the 3d backgrounds. I would love if this could include multi-player mode. Just out of curiosity, how many programmers did it take to make this?
Ikaruga and Shienryu Explosion were my main influences However, i believe Icarus-X is much easier than those two, so you shouldn't worry about throwing your iPhone to the wall And indeed, i'm the only programmer on this one.
This game looks excellent. I look forward to having this and assault squadron on my iPod. Now all someone needs to do is an einhander clone...
The lock on attack also really reminded me of RayStorm (aka Layer Section, aka Galactic Attack) - anyways, the game is looking fantastic so far, i'm a huge shmup fan and the iPhone could definetly do with some truly awesome shmups
I'm getting closer to sumbitting, but no idea what the approval time will be. It seems it's iPad Madness at Apple right now
