Aralon: Sword and Shadow est $9.99 (Crescent Moon) Probably. Would be a def buy for me Infinity Blade est $9.99 (Epic) I'm not sure. The price'll be 'reasonable' but $10 could be reasonable in comparison to prices we're hyping about. Real Racing 2 est $9.99 (Firemint) Defo. Nova 2 est $7.99 $6.99 (Gameloft) Gameloft will release it at $7 as they always do but that's being picky. Battlefield BC2 est $9.99 OR $4.99 (EA) We're ever getting an amazing fully-fledged game for $10 or a limited yet still impressive $4.99 game based on EA's recent trends Dungeon Hunter 2 est $7.99 (Gameloft) Gameloft will release it at $7 as they always do but that's being picky. Dead Rising est $9.99 (EA)(Capcom) Yep. Capcom released Time Crisis at $10, and due to the console game's success, popularity $10'll still bring in de monies. Eternal Legacy $7.99 $6.99 (Gameloft) See other gameloft games Shadow Guardian est $7.99 $6.99 (Gameloft) See above D.A.R.K. est $4.99 (Chillingo) Probably $2.99. From an indie dev anything more than $3 would be a risk Dead Space 2 est $9.99 (EA) Not this year
Shadow Guardian and Aralon are the only games on that list that interest me, but I may still wait for some sales on those. Maybe.
Actually dead space has been set for december 2010 on every single one of its posters, though it may follow mirrors edge...
Aralon and Infinity Blade are the only two I'll get right away. The rest will go on my wishlist and I'll eventually get when they're on sale. Once I finish those two I may get NOVA 2 but we'll see. I typically wait for Gameloft games to go on sale for $.99 but I mad an exception for Modern Combat 2.
Josh, one of the devs of Aralon, has said that it will likely be $9.99 but that they have not finalized it yet.
I'm not sure of my source, but I am 100000000% sure of reading that January 2011 is the release date; I was disappointed as I wanted December as it said on the original slideshow. And it makes more sense, January - Dead Space 2 is out then.
Hmmm... That will cost me a whopping $0. Cant wait for all the indie, non-shoot em up, non-racing games of next year
Ha, that's funny - you correct his mistake, but make another yourself! Namco made Time crisis not Capcom. Capcom did release SFIV for $10 though and i'd be surprised if Dead Rising wasn't around there too. Hopefully they follow the same update strategy as SFIV and Resi 4, with lots of free content being added over time.
Only getting Dungeon Hunter 2 from that list - Eternal Legacy is a JRPG? If so, nope, no way. I like to play games, not spend the first hour having conversations with town folk.
this really sucks, because i'm gona have to get all the gameloft games at full price, since i want all of them. the only gameloft game i have bought at full price is mc2, and i'm glad, because about 3 or four months later it still has not gone on sale, which basically is saying that they will not be running their typical sales as quickly from now on. and i guess i will have to get aralon, because everyone's saying its good. ugghhhhh i normally never get games at full price, unless their elite games such as gta mc2 and bs11.
No indie game has ever sold successfully at that price point. The history of the appstore, which I know is only a few years old, makes it pretty clear that attempting to sell Aralon at 9.99 would be a decisively stupid move. Is it worth 9.99? I'm sure it is. In fact, I'm quite sure it's worth more than 9.99. It could easy be worth 19.99. But will it sell at 9.99? No. EA and Gameloft both tried selling games at 9.99 and failed. So did many other established companies. Games from activision and Rockstar and Capcom have enjoy mild success at this price range, but an indie dev, a dev unknown to 95 percent of the appstore consumer base, the 95 percent that don't spend their time hanging around the Toucharcade forums, trying to sell a game at that price. Forget about it. 4.99 is the sweet spot. Personally, I have purchased many games for above this price and am willing to continue to do so, but EA is not stupid. They know what they are doing. If you want to maximize your profits, sell your games for 4.99 and budget accordingly. Even Gameloft knows. They start at 6.99, but soon drop to 4.99 and 4.99 is where the vast majority of Gameloft's games stay.
Dead Space 2 RELEASE If you read this article, you shall find the release to be January 2011. SO HA. JK. http://kotaku.com/5664594/would-your-iphone-like-some-dead-space-2
Then explain why world of goo is gonna be $10 when the game isn't even popular and heavily pirated on other platforms and is part of a niche genre? Also if they want to maximize profits theyd start high and go low.
That's what I thought. Oh well, they usually go on sale anyways and the titles aren't any I'm too interested in, so I'll wait for the sale. Only $20 for me. Aralon and RR2.
I know I will..I spend over $60 a month so a little more for the holidays is nothing. $100 is not even two good new games on my PS3.
