We decided not to go with the Toy Bot Diaries series on the iPad because of the touch-grappling-tilt mechanic that would be extremely awkward with a large device such as the iPad. But who knows' maybe we'll find a way to make it work... I have a small correction on the pricing... Cliffed XL, ZA!SW XL and ESCAPE: Norm's World XL will all be priced the same as the iPhone price and will not change. If you already own these games you're good to go on the iPad. Implode! will have an increase of a dollar (US) for the iPad and iPhone (as it is a universal build). Again, if you already have Implode! you do not have to pay anything.
You should anyway if you like this type of game - Implode is still my favorite IGUO game, and I'm thrilled that these will be universal builds and I won't have to re-buy them. Now all I have to do is win an iPad...
IUGO, i love you. i love cliffed, i love zombie attack two and i love improved graphics, therefore i love you.
This is outstanding news. TBH I was fully intending to repurchase ZA!2 and implode when I bought my iPad as I love them on the iPhone, but the fact I don't have to is a great bit of customer service. Thanks! People should anyway, implode is wicked
That's exactly what I just did! But I had to go read some reviews first. Watching that trailer reminded me why I didn't pick it up when it first came out (besides already playing way too many games at the time): frankly, the trailer makes the game look too easy. From reviews I gather that isn't the case, but it really looks like you could put a bomb on any supporting leg and the whole thing is bound to come tumbling down. The structures in the trailer just don't give the impression of stability, and the amount of pieces they break into (while awesome) don't really help that first impression. It might help to throw some failed attempts in there. Again, not a criticism of the actual game, just the trailer! Sometimes I think nothing energizes me more to buy a game than thinking "that guy's doing it all wrong, I could totally do better". It's the whole human-drive-to-fix-mistakes effect. That said, I've always loved the graphic style and I'm glad to have been given another reason to finally take the plunge.
Having played a few levels on my iPod I'm already a fan, but now I have a question: will my progress and scores carry over to the iPad? Will they remain synced somehow? It would be awesome to be able to pick up where I left off no matter the device.
it actually does get somewhat challenging in the later levels... where you have wind, and zones/objects that you cannot let the building fall down upon an awesome buy
The iPhone update will contain the new characters (2) but NOT the new backgrounds, those are iPad-exclusive
Actually... that kind of was the case for a good portion of the early Implode!. As we started releasing more updates, we started doing different sorts of building designs, and with the advents of new bomb types and different environmental effects, that issue rarely occurred in the newer levels. Now, with 140 levels as of the most current version on the App Store (and as we've mentioned, more coming!), there's a more pronounced difficulty curve that is somewhat easy at the beginning and gets fairly challenging in the later zones on Expert difficulty. An interesting point, but we didn't make that video. I can't remember who it was, but someone who did a review for the game did. Unfortunately, no. That said, over half of the iPad levels will have enhanced enviromnents/bomb types used, with some of the order even redone so that you get the newer features earlier, so playing many of the projects on the iPad will be a new challenge. It's like getting an enhanced version of the game you already have for free!
Okay, sweet. I guess I wasn't sure how similar/identical the two versions would be. Thanks for the replies!
