The fantastical Mass Effect: Infiltrator received a widescreen update yesterday, and some seemingly updated iPhone 5 level graphics. And oh boy, I'm playing through that baby again.
All JCho, all the time I think might be a bit of a stretch to include Instantion, at least compared to other games mentioned in the thread
I would be subscribed to this thread, but for some reason the TA app doesn't keep my choice to subscribe. I check it every few days when I venture into the general forum. Don't go insane listening to the echoes of your own voice, JC.
Hey guys, I forgot about this thread for a while, but I was recently reminded of it, so I'm gonna start it up again. The first game for the Second Grand Opening is the "Another World" (or "Out of this World") and "Flashback" inspired sci-fi action-puzzle platformer "The Way." The Way's art is flippin' phenomenal as you can see, and really captures the style of the games it draws inspiration from. The fine details in the environments are impeccable, and the structures are beautiful and complex. I am so excited for this I can't even express it in words. Here's the link to the upcoming thread, which'll give you more plot info and pictures: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=227930
Battle Worlds: Kronos is a new gigantically epic sci-fi turn-based strategy game. It combines elements of RTSs like StarCraft, Halo Wars, and C&C with the turn-based hexagonal grid of games like Civilization. Has a campaign plus a good array of multiplayer options. Looks frickin beautiful and amazing in every way, but it's iPad only. Here's the thread: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=230158
The Spatials is pretty cool, very much sci-fi. Base-building lite with some really fun planet missions and a good upgrade system (passive and active). Free with a $3 IAP for doubler / removal of ads. Spent at least 10 hours playing it, if not more. Would love to know if there's any other games kind of like this, with an emphasis on exploration and a big universe to visit.
Star Command is going to have huge update in a few weeks. I think it'll scratch your itch Btw, thanks for contributing to the thread!
Thanks man, I'll keep my eyes peeled for it, never heard of it before. Looks cool I picked up Out There recently as well, TA crew seem to like it a lot.
Yeah that's a fantastic one. Finding special events and meeting aliens is really cool, especially learning their languages.
Spacewrights http://spacewrights.com An FTL-esque 4X space exploration game including on land planet exploration and delicious pixel art. This is absolutely one to watch. You can read the full description on the website.
Shadow Protocol http://goodnightgames.com/shadow-protocol/ An upcoming sci-fi stealth game (sounds like they made it just for me) with slick 2D art. Definitely one for stealth fans to keep an eye on.
