Is Lara Croft and the Guardians of Light a good game? First, I have an iPhone 4. How does the game run on that device? So I recently got the new Tomb Raider and was suprised to see that this game had an IOS port. Is it a faithful port of the console version of Guardians? I saw that the TA review gave a low score but the forum consensus seems pretty positive. A question about gameplay: the game seems to be a twin-stick shooter but it says there are puzzles and platforming. How does that work? Are the controls good? Finally, is this worth getting to play single player? Thanks
Lara Croft: GoL is, in my opinion, one of the best iOS games ever. A very faithful port. Check out the LC: GoL thread. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=76600&highlight=guardian+light
The single largest difference between the iOS version and the other ones is that the original animated and in-game cutscenes are either replaced with still images or cut entirely. The gameplay itself manages to remain very close to that of the original game.
I just checked my store...hmm...it's a NEW app, costs 5 bucks, size went from about 300 MB to 850 MB (not installed) and my old iphone version is no longer available, of course... Could and will be a matter of discussion but i don't care - bought again. One of my best ios experience ever got some new love.
Ya. I was just about to comment on that. Seems to be a bit of a low blow...but I too am not gonna complain too much. This looks so much better. Ha
Strange... I posted the same thing about 15 minutes before you did but my post was deleted. (Only posting this to see if it's deleted as well)
Oh, I see now. You actually posted in the wrong thread. You bump the thread at the sales section http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=3425404#post3425404
Is it the same ios version as before but with HD res? I remember the effects being toned down a lot. Or is this closer to the console version? $5 seems steep for just an HD res upgrade. Any impressions?
There was an iPhone version which is no longer available. It looks like the iPad version was upgraded to universal, hence the HD. Here's the ipad forum: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=76621&page=13&highlight=Lara+Croft+Guardian+Light So if you bought the iPhone version I don't think that was upgraded. If you bought the iPad version, it was upgraded to universal. I bought the iPad version and got the update.
YES!!! One of my favorite dual stick shooters on iOS comes back! I was pretty bummed when they pulled it, so this is a huge surprise!
Oh, I didn't even notice that. I owned the iPhone and iPad versions, so it was no charge for me, but that's a bummer for the folks that only had the iPhone version. I still suggest people get this game. This is easily one of my favorite dual stick shooters. FYI, to all the console gamers out there, the new one was just released yesterday on current and next gen consoles.
same here... i've never payed for an update... too easy to pull a game from the store, update it and re-upload with a premium price... we just have to buy it again!!! hope this doesn't become a new mode to make more money, Square doesn't need it! really bad policy Square!!!
is not clear, i don't have it in my purchases list... try to install it or take a look at the file size, it was 300 mb, the new one has 800 mb (not installed). have you search it in the store? is it free of charge or has the new 4.99 price? if it has the new price instead of "get", the one on the purchases list should be the older pulled version.
