I bought this. The presentation is top notch, the art style, the voice overs, etc. But the gameplay? Simple "clear the room" and do it again. Tilt to move, and the game auto locks and auto shoots. Really boring. 1.5/5
When I first heard of mass effect coming to the iphone I got really hyped up for it but all of the impressions is depressing.
Oh dear!! Well thanks for the honest impressions. Saved me from making a purchase that i would regret. Such a shame because they could have done something good with this instead of cashing in.
How could EA screw this up? Rhetorical question obviously. I forgot, does EA own Bioware? Because Bioware puts out good games, what happened? This game could've been soooo good. This is effin tragic.
What do you like about it? What are its RPG elements and how repetitive is it? And lastly, are there any explosions?
Mass Effect is the most embarassing release by a big publisher on the iPhone. I had low hopes, but my friend refused to listen to me and bought it, so I tried it and it's lame. Imagine a Labyrinth game where the ball had legs and instead of holes there are these squatting dolls, and your ball shoots little pew pew lasers at them when you tilt and roll the ball near them. I felt like a fool while playing this game. Utterly horrible. Don't buy it.
I think that EA has the publishing rights to the Mass Effect title but I don't believe that BioWare developed this one.
I'm not sure what you guys are complaining about really. Do you think because it houses a console franchise and developed by Bioware it should be the god send to the iPhone? Or did all the Pocket God squelch your thirst for quick mindless fun gameplay? Mass Effect Galaxy is a fun game thus far and the story brings in the new enemies from the first dlc. Playing it works easy enough with just moving the phone to move your character and locking on is a simple tap on the enemy. Just like racers with the gas already pressed the trigger is already pressed for this game. All you need to do is avoid getting shot and you can play around with you skill sets. Only just started the game but already having a good time. Fans of Mass Effect should have a better time with this but I'm sure those who don't know the story can still get their worth out of it. Haters em cry (statement added just for kicks)
I don't think Bioware knows what the iPhone can really do. They made this game in mind that the iPhone is like a mobile platform but is capable of much more. I mean really, there is almost no other reason I can think of that they would release such a horrible game.
