I asked this question in the Monkey Island thread but I'd like to get a few more opinions (and that thread isn't exactly cooking right now). ...most reviews talk about Monkey Island (2) in a nostalgic light, and praise it because it's just like it was. If you've never played the game before, is this a good game now, today?

I'm trying to find the action RPG with the most replay value. What is it?

Actually, it DOES matter what genre you like. To be honest, as I've said many times, if you are just generally looking for a game as you are now, I'd say go for PvZ. I am NOT a fan of the genre but I am definitely enjoying the game.

@KushyKush: Fastar! is what you want.

In terms of our current culture (especially younger generation), i'd have to say no. Like all Adventure games, it's heavily character and story-based, and there's often a lot of unusual thinking and puzzle solving. It depends on the kind of person you are and how much you want a good story versus just plain action. If you are more like the first choice, then yes.

Didn't play the second one yet, but I loved the first one (Secret of) despite never having played the originals back then and somewhat quirky controls of this port. In fact, I never played any P&C adventures on PC at all and I am really into them on my iPod.
IIRC MI1 and Beneath a Steel Sky have Lites and they are both very good games. Try them and see how you feel about the genre.

IMHO, downright the best P&C game on Appstore and an allround great game is The Broken Sword. If you want to give the genre _one_ chance, pick that. It requires iOS 4.+ nowadays, though.

For me, Phoenix Wright was a much more enjoyable game, but both are very good.

No. Even though the devs made Fruit Ninja, the game has soared considerably in the charts OVERNIGHT, has gotten rave reviews, and even looks like fun for you, don't get the game.

Oh, and it got a 5/5 on AppSpy too! What a bad game!

@LordVader: Can you please define the word "sarcasm"? :p

Both are great. You can't go wrong. Just get them both eventually.

How about Dark Nebula and its sequel? Space Miner? Super QuickHook? If you don't own any of those, you should.

It's pretty good so far. Just imagine Canabalt, subtract a little of the speed, and add monsters, spikes, and guns!
