Confirmed by Famitsu, and will be released later this month. Hopefully we get it in the US soon too. Screenshots:
Can't wipe this huge grin off my face... with Chrono Trigger out and GTAIII just around the corner, this caps off a nostalgic hat-trick of old-school games I can't believe i'm able to play on my phone... yes, PHONE. Never thought we'd be here but sure as hell proud to own an iPhone. And to think... I was thinking of selling it off for a Galaxy SII.
i jz choked myself, as a gamer from the 90's, Megaman was one of the best series ever. i do hope they get their control WELL. hold charge while dashing, lets see how famitsu pull it off
I am specifically wondering how they will handle the controls concerning the Dash function. Maneuvering with the Dash is a very important feature in the Mega Man X series, and the average player is pretty much dead without it. Edit: What I mean to say is, it will be difficult to use the Dash button, and the Jump button simultaneously on a touch screen. I am curious as to how they will implement this into the game.
Can't say I agree with the general sentiment regarding the graphics. It looks flat, bland and just lazily run through an HQ filter. The great thing about the SNES MMX's visuals is all the great detail implied by the low res pixel work. I find it especially perplexing because Capcom actually released a remake two years ago on the PSP and, even though the animations are a bit stiff, it looks much better than this... thing. I'm usual a fairly vocal proponent of HQ "upmakes" but this one has a awkward smell to it.
I think the new graphics fit Mega Man perfectly, very clean and simple rather then flashy and distracting. Even though I've already played through the game dozens of times on SNES and PSP this is a day one purchase if the controls are up to par.
You can hope, but if it's by Capcom I wouldn't hold your breath... I'm looking forward to it too, though.
Not worried about the graphics so much but just hope they nail the gameplay. You could have amazing graphics but if the gameplay is wrong it all counts for nothing
I'm hoping they do something to how NBA Jam handled sprinting and passing at the same time. Press dash and then slide your finger to the jump icon.
well, this is a good method to command dash and jump another problem is holding Charge attack and Jump at the same time. several key control to nail this game - dash + jump - charge attack + dash - charge attack + jump if capcom nailed it, they'll nail me and i believe most of the old timer
