Alley Labs is probably thinking now :"We should've put all the info in the help section." All these gameplay questions must be killing you.
Finally got my iPod back and played this a bit. Game is friggin' awesome, definitely worth the money. I'm so picky about controls also, but these feel perfect. Only other game I've felt that with before was Nano Fighter.
With the exception of the 3 meteor types (normal, ice, fire), all the guns do pretty much the same damage to all enemies. We figured it'd be hard enough to switch guns to match the meteors, let alone all the different enemy types!
The game pauses when you left go of the screen. BRILLIANT! Why has this not been thought of afore? GENIUS! Best 2 bucks I've ever spent on the App Store! And I love how perfect the controls are. If you suck at this game you just have no excuse... You just suck! Brilliant work, guys! BRAVO! Been following this one for a while and am happy it turned out even better than I'd hoped.
Haha, next time we should just link to the forum posts =D We actually spent a lot of time on the tutorial section. It originally started out as a few static text screens, but we found that people were just skipping over them and then getting confused during the game. In the first update, I think we'll add a few more sections to the tutorial.
actually, the first time I saw it was Vector Blaster http://toucharcade.com/2008/09/18/retro-shooter-vector-blaster-tempest-for-the-iphone/ arn
Right on! But we can't take credit; we saw it in Isotope, and immediately thought every game should consider having it. One feature we hadn't seen before is the "autosave + instant resume", when you quit the app in the middle of a game, and later restart the app. I've found myself playing Meteor Blitz a lot more because I knew I could quit at any time and not spend 20 seconds looking at loading screens when I wanted to resume later. I'm hoping that this is a feature that will catch on with other iPhone developers. I know I'd play a lot more games if it did.
Thanks for the video, arn. We definitely need a better video camera over here. Which camera did you use to record it?
Another app which has auto resume is Nut Chuckin'. You don't need to go through any menus or anything as the game restarts from the level you last left. I hope such features gain more popularity Btw. Too many off topic post here(including mine). Let's get back to the game again. My download has just now ended and off to meteor blitzkrieg I go
Wow I just checked the game out on the appstore and it looks really good. Judging from all the posts so far it looks like this is a game I need to keep an eye on
Yeah Vegan, definitely get it. It's my new favorite game. The only thing missing is some awesome menu music.
I'm a buck short on my itunes account =/ The company I was a betatester/community manager for decided to end the program without telling me So now I'm penny pinching my real money since they had me upgrade my bill saying they would pay for it... although TECHNICALLY I'd only pay a dollar...
