The game is based around content-heavy updates. Its also high-production value.

No, that's about it. Most of the posts are "OMG OMG!!" and "It's finally out!" and so on.

It's not deep, but I don't think all games need to be.
Don't get me wrong, it is fun. They got my $.99. We'll see what the updates bring. :D

I agree about the high-production value when it comes to the art style and such, but don't you think the menu is bush league at best? You go from this killer splash screen to a really bad looking menu system. I hope they fix that.

I really don't think there's a game that everyone likes.

    What I see is:

    - an awesome artwork (which is something I really appreciate in a game)
    - an Epic background music (it's very engaging specially if you play the game using headphones)
    - quoting Hodapp: "Duke Nukem-like comments" (the voice and comments along with the context they happen are very clever)
    - sounds effects are also nice and subtle (professionally done)
    - gameplay is simple and it may appeal to some gamers: o good default weapon along with a rifle that comes in a box that can be used as a bomb. In addition you have the Beast. Simple and innovative in some way.
    - the game has its own personality: unique character, enemies and overall design
    - controls are perfect
    - smooth frame rate
    - OpenFeint integration
    - a lot of options including iPOD music and support for both landscape orientations

Graphics, animations, sounds effects and music also make a great combination delivering a great gaming atmosphere.

And all that for $0.99! It's unbelievable considering the prices I had to pay for some simple Palm games.

Finally, I can't see where the hype was/is. There was just a forum buzz in an isolated topic. Nothing else. The game is basically what the videos shows us.

    5/5 for sure!

That's part of the issue with this. High production is there to a certain degree, but proposed updates are just that--proposed. Until they come out, you can only judge the game in its current state.

Nope, don't agree. I think the menus are fine. Sure, nothing eye popping, but they work.

Wow, kind of surprised by this. Oh well, we'll agree to disagree on this one ;). The game is fine and has a nice charm to it, but I'm witholding some judgement until updates come along
