Yeah this is a bug. Basically LANDING TOO HARD will make this happen. It has something to do with the collision system around the caharacter and we call this bug The Ghost of Monkey Land 3D. If you hold the joystick too far away from the dead center Mugen will run way too fast and then when you jump he's gone! Way back when we started making the game we had a big gorilla type player. He was really cool and kind of like King Kong-ish more than Donkey Kong but because of similarities to DK I decided to go with the animorphized monkey instead. The monkey that came to be Mugen. So then after testing we found this bug. We don't even know where the Monkey goes at this point. I seriously think the gorilla is still in the game and haunts it sometime grabbing Mugen and pulling him into some un-known void in the games universe. We still haven't found a patch to this bug. I'm sorry, the only way is to close the app and restart it. Thanks for showing us as it does help us to find the problem, this one we are still working on unfortanatly. It's the ghost gorilla's fault.
I love these types of high score challenges. I attached the best time I could get with all the bananas and items. The UI seems to be a bit bugged out on my iPad mini, but the score, banana count, and time are all visible. My reviewer name is doge2win, although it appears my review is still pending approval. Thanks for the fun contest and the great game!
