Only if people from England don't consider the Oxford English Dictionary proper English, since it appears there with a long list of citations.

Im surpirsed no one has said Pocket God yet, or if they have i've missed it.
I have read multiple posts hailing Pocket God as "The best 99cents i have ever spent" and although i have only had it for about a week now i have already noticed it is updated with new features and minigames quite often with the latest update adding a mini version of the touch and steer type games such as Flight Control and Harbor Master, also including a jumper type game that i have gathered is along the lines of doodle jump. Offering this much for under a buck seems like a must buy to me.

Also i have been having a lot of fun with Mecho Wars, which is like an Advance Wars type game where you can interact with a changin environment to take down and conquer your opponents.

Space Deadbeef is also a pretty fun FREE app that plays kind of like R-Type. Its definetly worth checking out for the pricetag.

Then of course there are classics that have already been mentioned like Peggle, Minigore and Hero of Sparta.

geoDefense FTW! The best .99 cents game out there... My first TD game. It open my eyes to TD games. Now, i have a couple of TD games. geoDefense is Hard, challenging and frustrating but fun! You will keep coming back to beat it... I FINISHED IT!... i can't wait for SWARM, i'll definitely get this game.

I would have to say Knights Onrush, the campaign difficulty progression is really well done.
