Watching The Avengers on Blu-Ray on our HDTV. Compared to a DVD..wow. First Blu-Ray player we've ever owned: my brother's new PS3.
Just finished watching The Avengers on Blu-Ray with the family. Those last 30 minutes or so are so damn good. Love the last scene. Les Mis opened to $18m today. Django opened to $13m. Pretty darn good.
I'm thinking of watching Les Miserables and/or Zero Dark Thirty. Has anyone watched both or either one? What're your thoughts?
I'd also like to know if anyone has seen Zero Dark Thirty, seems quite a compelling movie. Not really interested in those musical type movies, even though our Aussie Hugh is in it
Wait, Les Miserables is a musical? lol. I saw the cast and the poster and I was thinking of an olden-ish drama movie. So that leaves me with ZDT.
I wanna see Les Miserables, too. I liked the old Liam Neeson version. Plus, Anne Hathaway is in this new one.
Pfft, rather Scarlett Johansson any day of the week Can't wait for Hitchcock! Anyway, just watched LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring over two days What's the difference between normal and extended versions?
Hehe, don't get me wrong, I love me some Scarlett Johansson, too, one of my favorite actresses! The Extended Edition of FOTR has 30 mins of extra/extended scenes. I highly recommend watching the Extended Editions of all three films.
Family movie day today. Watched Rise of the Guardians (lol) and Skyfall (again). RotG was better than I expected. It's pretty much The Avengers for kids, meh. Didn't really catch too much by watching Skyfall again. Not really interested in Les Mis. My gf on the other hand.. I just want to see Django Unleashed soon.
So lemme get this straight, is Les Mis a musical? I liked the Liam Neeson version, but not a huge musical fan.
Out of all the Shelock Holmes films, I like the Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce versions the best. I also like the RDJ movies, but I see those as more of a reimagining of the Sherlock Holmes character rather than a strict adaption of the books.
Ugh no....I think from memory FotR only has about 10-15 mins of additional footage. TTT has about 30+ minutes extra while RotK has the best part of a hour's worth of extra footage.
From Wikipedia: "On 12 November 2002, an extended edition was released on VHS and DVD, with 30 minutes of new material, added special effects and music, plus 20 minutes of fan-club credits, totaling to 219 minutes..." And yeah, well now I'm less interested in Les Mis knowing it's an all out musical...
My top 3 favorite films of 2012: 1. The Hobbit 2. The Dark Knight Rises 3. The Avengers Purely my opinion.
My Top Five Movies: 1. The Dark Knight Rises 2. Prometheus 3. The Hobbit Part 1 4. The Avengers 5. John Carter Have yet to see Les Mis., Rise of the Guardians, and Django. Probably see them in January.
How the heck is it a joke? It's a great sci-fi movie decent story... Box office bomb because of its marketing and title but nonetheless, a movie worth watching.
