Nice video. Shame the guy didn't remember his prime numbers. That was painful to watch. Thanks for making a space game that requires some knowledge of math and science! Don't dumb it down.
You can try to communicate with aliens on certain planets. At first, you won't understand their language. But the more you'll talk to aliens, the more you'll learn the dialect, the more you will be able to interact with them (trading, learning new technology). The galaxy is randomly generated each new game so every run is different. Also, there are 3 different endings.
Exactly! Could end up been a deeper, more involving version of FTL .... Only 3 days left! Hope space combat gets added before people have played the game to death n got bored. Trading as deep as it was in elite?
A mixture of FTL, elite and another game I used to play but can't think of the name. Was it psi trading company? Also I used to love a game called empire that was a 2d space exploring/trading game on c64... Wish that would be remade
Be warned! This is not a 4X. There is no currency/money in the game. Trading with aliens is extremely limited because they are not traders/shop keepers. And they don't even understand your language. You'll have the opportunity to trade in very rare occasions. In the universe of Out There, aliens don't necessarily have the technology to leave their own planet. They may not even care about you. Or some may believe you are a god from the sky. You will feel lonely.
Anticipating 'Out There' is an understatement I've been looking forward to this for what seems like eternity. I want it to succeed on a BIG level as much as anyone, including the developer. I'm prepared to share the hell out of this wherever possible.
