According to the PopCap website, there will be a new deal every 48 hours. However, it's explicitly for the iPhone/iPod Touch, and not the iPad.

All of the iPhone/iPod Touch PopCap games have been on sale *very* recently (tsunami), so this offer doesn't make much sense.

I don't remember how much I paid for this game and I don't care. It's an absolute steal for $.99.

Why PopCap doesn't release Retina for iPhone4? Any chance to see this new retina release soon?

Maybe we'll see Plants vs. Zombies 2 before...

Don't think there will be a PvZ2 just yet.

To your question with retina i think if they release it, it will be in a content update.

When Peggle goes on sale I'm there. I got PvZ already :) I think Bookworm is on sale now.

Why no retina? I believe that PopCap are having massive difficulty creating high res versions of the Zombie animations (which are created\exported from Flash). The original PC code was ported almost in it's entirety to iPhone, this means that it's very poorly optimized to run on an iDevice. Adding the extra resources for retina is going to bump the size of this thing massively and it already has major issues with load times.

Why no survival? I would imagine that it's purely down to a speed issue. The endless game modes have way more Zombies than regular campaign, towards the latter waves. There's no way a badly optimized port of PvZ could run that much animation on an iPhone.

My guess is that they would have added the features a long time ago if it was as simple as adding the extra code. All the resources for Endless already exist in campaign...

So don't hold your breath people ;)

Hasn't dropped yet, but looks like this will be on sale again for $.99.

Just hope EA/Popcap doesn't start screwing with this game the way they did Bejeweled.

One of the recent reviews is the typical garbage of giving a game a one star because it doesn't support widescreen. So my guess is no. It doesn't show in the update logs either as having been addressed, though it does specifically support iOS6.
