Same here. Went to buy at 9:10 PM (PST) and was back to normal price. I had figured all day on the 20th, too.
Updated to 4.3.1. I had a paused game of "endless" up to 42 flags (my record is in the eighties) and I only got sound effects for about 10 seconds before they stopped. Clearly this only happens on levels where there is a tremendous amount of stuff happening. I heard back from PopCap support: This is not promising. Yes it's almost the same version as the pc game, the only thing that is missing is the zen garden which was useful for getting money to buy the new plants from crazy Dave.
Could be able on next PvZ update, use same player on iPad and iPhone? It means, for example play PvZ HD at home on my iPad and continue on PvZ on iPhone everywhere, with my same user on both apps. Will be possible? Thanks so much!
Does the update solve the audio issue ? This is the most played game on my ipad ! Really cant get enough of it.
This is one of my biggest wishes for ios gaming, syncing of gamesaves. Real Racing 2 does it really well but far too many games have no way to sync saves across ipad/iphone/ipod. It should have been part of the spec when calling games universal imo.

I waited a while for a sale on the iPad version , refused to pay $9 for a game I don't even know If I like, so I bought the $4 iPhone version for my iPad instead.. Now I wish I waited for this.. Probs buy it anyway. But what a waste.. Not a huge fan of the game.. Maybe I just haventgotten into it properly yet.. Have to be missing something since everyone else 5 stars it..
How far have you gotten into the game? I've introduced the game to about 8-9 people so far, 5 of who were female (who don't usually enjoy gaming) and almost everyone loved it. A fair amount of strategy is required later on in terms of plant placement and selection; from what I understand, the iPad version is also superior to the iPhone version in terms of content. Please buy the game, and think later... haha. At this price, it's a no-brainer

I know how you feel. The game just didn't look like fun to me; even after watching the videos. I can tell you, however, that the game ended up hooking me and my sons completely. I sure do miss the "Thriller" zombies, however. They should have left them in.
ipad always gets their updates later. Heck we don't even have peggle on the ipad yet and it's totally meant to be.
