    hehe.

    select screen

first ever character - mage, not very happy with it, potion guzzler, no focused talents
aim was max crit gear, most damage spell to kill things

next time will focus more on 2 primary spells and max crit

rogue was next, very happy with it, so fast, kills flawlessly, life leech + water fairy + max crit + high dmg weapons = happy!!

play style = stun, kill, stun, kill, stun, kill, nothing can stop me.. muhahahaha

then the warrior who i pretty much went max damage possible, decent damage, not nearly anywhere close to rouges in terms of scaling up with successive hits

    and finally gameloft trophies

    does this make me sad??

    hmm........

Seriously ... if u guys want to show of your dungeon hunter character, at leasts wait till you finish the game and get full tier 1 or tier 2 set. Anyway for those of u who dont know the best armor for mages is the archamge set 2nd oracle set for rouge is jester set 2nd hunter set and for warrior is king set 2nd guardian. Btw i have elemental sword, full king set including the king kite sheild and super rare king armor which i farm for ages at the 5 towers after end game . I try to post a pic, have fun dungeon hunting! :)

Does someone have a very good mage build which does not use potions every three spells (yes i'm exagerating), while staying competitive against most of the creeps ?

I played 3 classes, warrior & rouge are easiest, Mage seem harder but still easy to me, so try Mage to challenge yourself. I had some fun time to kill the Queen around lvl 30

Don't like mages... Never have. Only mage I play is on Sevenswords. Btw Sevenswords plays SOOO much better than it used to. I actually played for 2 hours this morning without getting dropped once.. i even put the game down for 5 minutes and came back and was still connected!

I've been experimenting with mages and the only build I found that DOES NOT rely on any potions at all is what I call a Battlemage.

Basically, you'll be using your staff/wand for fighting, with occasional spell here and there.

Here's how to go about it (can't post screenshots for some reason).

First 5 levels: put all your points into DUMMY spell.
Dummy is great because it makes all enemies around you attack it instead of you and all you have to do is recast it once in a while.
For the next 15 levels, split points between dummy and wand specialist.

At level 20 you should have 10 points in Dummy and 10 points in wand specialist.

As for attribute points, I suggest splitting them 2:1 between energy and dexterity.
Your goal here is to have high enough AR so that you can actually hit the enemies.

The only spell you'll be using until now is the fairy one. It's actually great because it's AOE and mage has a high chance of scoring critical with it (I had 200 something damage from lighting at lvl 20).

So for most monsters, your fighting steps are as follows:

    1) cast dummy
    2) start bashing the enemies with your staff/dual wands
    3) if there are more than 2 enemies, cast the fairy AOE spell as well
    4) recast dummy
    5) finish off the monsters with your melee weapons.

This way you will always have high mana and will also be away from the danger's way.

I just finished the forge area with this build with NOT a single potion used and the battle that I found difficult with my rogue and even died (windmill boss), was a breeze for this build.

After lvl 20 I suggest specializing in one offensive spell as well (I chose fire simply because it does most damage) for boss fights. Usually bosses are really hard to hit with melee weapons, so I rely on that one offensive spell and it usually kills them very fast.

    So for boss fights:

    1) cast dummy
    2) switch to offensive spell
    3) cast a few times
    4) recast dummy

this might get you to 50% or less mana left, but since there aren't that many bosses out there, I don't think it's such a big deal.

I also suggest using DUAL WANDs to a good STAFF because you get more bonuses from two wands and also the damage seems greater.
I found two life leech wands and they've been making my life very easy up to now.

Some other skills that you should consider getting after lvl 20 are:
    1) Master of Magic - increases the chance for critical when you use the fairy AOE spell
    2) Fairy Blood - if you want to have more resistance against elements
    3) Psychic Blast - stuns everyone, so makes your life even easier

The skills that I find are useless for this build are:
    1) Transmutation - for obvious reasons
    2) Sword guardian - AI is too dumb and other enemies ignore it
    3) Mage armor - your point here is NOT to get hit by using dummy
    4) Energy manipulation - you won't be using spells that much
    5) Channeler - you won't be lacking MPs

Also, focus on two offensive spells MAX. Don't spread your points across all 5 elements.
And don't underestimate the effectiveness of the Fairy AOE spell.
It does great damage on higher levels and if you have high critical chance, will help you eliminate huge crowds in no time.

Dummy is definitely a must have. It lets you work everything else out on your own time, especially if you use the water fairy to slow down your enemies, as it takes them even longer to run through its hit points.

I've been using wands/light maces a lot to do melee damage while also casting lightning/fire on enemies and its basically a patience game. If i'm willing to wait for my melee to kill the enemies i just manage my spells so that i never need potions.

the only downside: its really boring! I'm almost regretting figuring it out as the whole thing feels awkardly easy and repetitive now.

    All fine and good but...

I think I've come to the right thread... you guys are playing the game in
depth so I've got a question. First, a quick background... I'm new to these
games and generally suck pretty badly. The only real computer game I
played was Diablo 2 which is why I am looking at Dungeon Hunter.
The burning question: Does Dungeon Hunter PLAY like Hero of Sparta?
The controls look similar & I cannot get past that giant between the 2
towers because and don't play it anymore. If this is the same... I'd rather
pass and save a few bucks. Well, that's my n00b question for this week:D

No, it doesn't really play like Hero of Sparta -- you don't have to pull off combos and tap on-screen sequences for killing moves. Gameplay is really very similar to Diablo and Diablo 2, where the outcome of combat is usually determined by the character's level, attributes, and weapons. You also never have to move fast or engage in twitchy play to go past a stage. Some would say that the game is too easy: I would say that it is balanced toward non-hardcore gamers, while still providing a surprising amount of depth.

If you liked Diablo II, you will most likely enjoy DH.

I'm sure it've been discussed before, but do you guys just grind to get to lvl 50? There's nothing else to do other than grinding after the storyline or am i wrong? I'm at lvl 42 or so myself.

best thing to do is just keep making ur rounds around the Towers killing the Generals for leet armor + weps. even then, it is quite a bit of grinding. i think the monsters in the Towers are only giving me like 10xp now :(
