This is a screenshot of an old unfinished version of helium boy I made for PC back in 2006 and this how it looks on iPhone and Android now I didn't have time to update the graphics quite as much as I would have wanted but at least it looks a lot cleaner and a bit less hideous now
Laundry Rush 2.0 I've posted previously with before and after pics for our game Laundry Rush, well we're preparing to release a massive update this week and so I thought I would post the new changes for comparison again Concept Version 1 Version 2 - Available this week. It also introduces Washy, the friendly washing machine We've still got some work polishing up the interface as it's not quite there yet. Instead of trying to perfect it all before release (we've taken 6 months since our last update!) we decided to switch to a regular release schedule and update/polish it over multiple releases. Grab it on the AppStore
One of the characters of our upcoming game Dedaloop... ...and one of the tile Both from the steampunk theme.
Great thread, some enhancements are very noticeable! Those are ours (Tapsteroids), from the first prototype to test gameplay variations passing through an intermediate graphics style finally ending with the final, retina display, result
Monster Takedown Here are the before and after pics from our soon to be released title Monster Takedown. Being able to see the incoming helicopters and missiles was a problem with the original idea of the monster being in amongst the buildings. The background looked too messy so we decided to scale the monsters up and pan out to view the whole city scape. This gave a clear backdrop where incoming waves could easily be picked out. Pretty early mock up Finished design More screens of how the game looks now in our thread
I actually like the look of the larger city scale better from a pure art perspective. More engaging and the city looks better since you only see a bit of it, your mind fills in the rest instead of showing a more generic, tiled cityscape along the bottom. You could just lighting the gradient up a bit so it's not as muddy/busy in the first shot.
This is one of my all time favorite threads here in TA. Great posts from everyone! Here's a shot of our latest game, I Won't Fall, from prototype to final. You can get the game here.
I agree completely. The early shot has a whole lot more feeling to it. I really like the big city one. The scale feels better - and it meshes together very well. The current art isn't bad at all, but the other one actually seems "more rightier". lol
