I wonder the difficulty balancing of this game is good or not. And... I also want to know what do you want extra contents except adding stages and characters. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #65 awp69, Feb 22, 2011 The game is great and original - taking the best from platformer and running games. The game may be a touch harder than it needs to be. I'm probably just not as good as others here, but i'm stuck at level 8 as of now. Difficulty settings would be great -- maybe just even adding more time as an "Easy" mode. Main thing I would want is what you've already stated -- more stages and characters (although it may keep me busy for a while just trying to get past where I'm at). squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,554 1,084 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #66 squarezero, Feb 22, 2011 I think the game is really fun with an unusual gameplay concept that works well on the platform. I would love to see... 1) better frame rate and more character animation. It's not bad right now, but as Gabrien mentioned earlier, getting this closer to 60 FPS would turn it into an instant classic 2) more variety in character skills. So far the Mogwai and Avatar characters have pretty much the same attack -- it would be fun to see their skills tie better with their respective units (like the Legolas character). 3) more level variety. My favorite levels are those that involve vertical platforms, springs and traps, etc, though they are more challenging (sorry Awp69). I should make it clear, however, that the game has plenty of content right now, particularly with the forthcoming third movie. All in all, though, this is one of my favorite purchases this month. ainpapa Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2010 121 0 16 CEO of Sticky Hands INC. I got 1 NG, but I cleared 2nd try. Don't hesitate to get big coin, just keep going to the end. And you had better switching characters gun shooting ones and punching ones like jimmy. try again~ bunglez Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2011 735 0 16 Tree UK #71 bunglez, Feb 22, 2011 I'm enjoying the game. Still writing a review actually. One thing I can think of that might be putting people off, is the fact that it's not quite retro, and not quite modern. Personally, I think that's no bad thing, but you might be missing both crowds somehow. ainpapa Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2010 121 0 16 CEO of Sticky Hands INC. South Korea https://www.facebook.com/StickyHandsInc/ #72 ainpapa, Feb 22, 2011 Wow... it's very confused. You mean the ready action is very uncertain? Hm... Retro style means using pixel arts like league of evil, right? and also ready action is 2D game, not 3D like volcano escape. bunglez Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2011 735 0 16 Tree UK #73 bunglez, Feb 22, 2011 I mean that it's not quite a retro game, like League of Evil, or Grim Joggers and yet it's not quite a modern platformer, like soosiz, or Mirror's Edge. It would probably sell better if it was more blocky and pixelated as opposed to sharper and shinier. Once you go for polished graphics, you have a lot of heavyweight competition. That's a shame though really, as I think the comicbook style is good, and works with the game. Maybe i'm wrong, and it's something else. I'll let you know more of my thoughts once i'm finished testing. ainpapa Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2010 121 0 16 CEO of Sticky Hands INC. Many thanks. bunglez Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2011 735 0 16 Tree UK #75 bunglez, Feb 22, 2011 4 stars Ready, Action! is bright and well polished, original platformer for iOS. The minimal storyline revolves around you acting out scenes for the camera within a specified time limit. When playing, there isn't any clues to the fact that you're on a filmset, just a normal platform game, which feels a bit detatched from the story. That's not to say the platform game isn't enjoyable. It is. A variety of traps, coins, enemies, boosts and jumps keep things interesting. The pace, if anything is too slow. Running up and down hills feels a little laboured, but perhaps things speed up in the later levels. Controls are responsive and easy to use which is a big bonus. The graphics are well drawn, the backgrounds interesting and the animation smooth. The menus and level ups are well designed and easy to use, although the shop upgrades menu could be a little clearer. The sounds are reminiscent of a westernised Japanese gameshow. Weirdly comical in that way only the Japanese can do so well. To make the game feel more like a movie, I'd like to see stronger themed stages. Western / SciFi / Action / Comedy etc.... Each stage with different kinds of actions. Western world could have you using ropes. In SciFi world there could be Aliens and RayGuns. etc. Maybe i'm asking for a bit much there, but with stronger theming, and more variety I think this game could be a winner. More in the way of upgrades and costumes would be great in future too. Gamecenter achievements would also add to the longevity of play. I'm going to keep playing, see if I can complete the thing, and look forward to more updates in future. All the ingredients are there, they just need a bit more refining, and growth. A fun title with good imagination and strong controls. crex Doctor of Game of the Week-ology Oct 18, 2010 7,679 10 0 Everywhere and Nowhere #76 crex, Mar 5, 2011 Its now FREE! DaniK094 Well-Known Member Nov 1, 2009 67 1 6 #77 DaniK094, Mar 7, 2011 Can someone explain how to get three stars on scene 11 in the first movie? I've tried everything - killing all 5 gollums and getting the big coin, changing costumes, completing the level very quickly without getting killed. Is there a certain time limit or character that needs to be used? Because I got through all the levels in the first movie with 3 stars on all but a few levels. (And haven't been able to beat the final level at all) Level 11 is the one I'm having the most trouble completing with 3 stars. But also, new costumes stopped being unlocked for me after Bigfoot and it seems like more costumes are needed to complete all scenes in the first movie with three stars. So to recap...any help with 11? And do I need three stars on each level to continue unlocking costumes? ainpapa Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2010 121 0 16 CEO of Sticky Hands INC.
