People never complain about console pricing because they have no choice. The prices are predetermined with few exceptions. Instead, people seek alternatives rather than pay those prices (used game market, Gamefly etc..).

Second off, of course value has a monetary value to each individual person. No matter how much I love Mass Effect 2, I'm not buying it if it costs $100 or $200. I'll happily buy it at $60 though. There are other games that I don't think are worth $60 but might still be fun to play, like Army of Two, so I'll pick that up when its $30 or $40, which seems to be a price I'm more willing to pay. The same goes for iPhone games. I'm more than happy to get GTA for $10, but others I wouldn't pay more than a few dollars for.

I get that people bitching about a how overpriced a $2 is annoying, but at the same time this idea that price shouldn't matter and we're being shallow or something for actually placing a monetary value on a game is just as annoying.

First of all, I would never pay a $100 for a game for any console, no console game even costs a $100 (unless its a p2p mmorpg or something). Secondly, it's up to the person who buys it if it's worth it to them. No matter how good a game is, I'm not going to pay a ridiculous price for it. Also regarding your above post about price not mattering, is ridiculous, the idea is that the price shouldn't matter as long as it's a reasonable price for the game.

Lol that's what I do at gamestop. Impulse buying everytime and there's a couple games I'd dish out $100 if I had to. FF13 and MW2
