Boo to Apple for rejecting the Agarest build. An iPod Touch 5G has 512MB RAM (same as iPhone 4) so *should* run Agarest fine; fingers crossed. It's a turn based game so it's not like kinetic split second white knuckled responsiveness is required.
This is great news! You now have my purchase ---- Looks like this is the big ipod touch 5G club! Well no problem with that since it's an amazing and slim device. If it runs well on the iphone 4 then I'm sure it'll run well on the touch 5G. Generally these games do run fine but sometimes games with massive particle effects or a bunch of actions happening at once will kill all the ram. I'm glad these devs aren't buttholes like SQE who started increasing all their ios requirements to 7.0 for their 2D games. Genius right? "Let's make less people play this non-graphically intensive game!"
Sigh.. I was really hoping this would release today. I guess there are a bunch of things to fix. It feels like I'm waiting forever. I saw all the awesome games (that I'm not so interested in) coming out today and honestly none of them would compare to this!
Honestly there isn't much to fix. it comes down to a couple of things 1. when you resubmit you go back to the end of the queue. (i.e. another weeks time) 2. in japan last week was a holiday. so we didn't know about the comments until yesterday. 3. we reviewed the comments we got here and by apple and wanted to release a 100% solid quad A the best of all time game. You guys are awesome.
Thanks for always updating us HyperDev. You guys really are "hyper" I hope you guys get a lot of success with this release and bring out more high quality games. If anyone looks at your app history they'll see you only release AAA games!
It isn't a lie. we do apologize. since last week was a holiday, and the game's size takes a considerable amount of time to upload, we didn't get into apple's review pipeline until late last week. I would also expect with WWDC coming soon some of apples partners submitted new versions to apple specifically for WWDC. believe me we want to release this as much as you guys are anticipating it.
For veterans of the original: how does this compare to, say, FFT? I'm mostly interested in mechanical similarities and differences, but if this can come even close to FF Tactic's quality and archetypical status for some players, matters of taste might be interesting as well (I'm labouring under the assumption that most tactical party TBS/RPG hybrids are similar enough for comparison. If not, well, all the better )
if you liked FFT or disgaea you will be right at home with Agarest. there is a wiki page for agarest somewhere. plus i think hyperdevbox posted a video of game play.
This game should be easier than Spectral Souls right? I actually couldn't play SS because it was so difficult. I thought the learning curve was waaay higher than FFT and I originally thought FFT was difficult.
@L.Lawliet i wouldn't say easier. there are similiar but different game elements in each of Spectral Souls, Blazing Souls, and Agarest.

Will it be available worldwide? Or just US and JP? I can't see it in my local PH app store but i can see it in the US store
