No, you're waaaaay off. There are plenty of people who practice magic and believe in these things. Where do you think this stuff comes from? The fact that EVERY RPG uses a hexagram(seal of Solomon) for summoning in a game, all those same games use the Judea-Christian concept of demons, and then there are actual chants going on in these games. Yeah, no one is trying to share their religion with you, right?

One of my favorite quotes on here, from the creator of bit dungeon:

As someone who is polyamorous, having multiple girlfriends/wives isn't so bad. They just need to have multiple loves as well. It would be ridiculous to try to be the sole source of romantic needs for multiple women, but if others are helping you out, it tends to work out better.

There are lots of groups that call themselves Mormon but the LDS church is so adamant that those other groups can't claim Mormonism.

It's funny because it's exactly like Mormons calling themselves Christian when so many Christian churches are adamant that Mormons aren't Christians.

The fact is there are tons of groups that branched off from what Joseph Smith started and they all have fair claims to Mormonism. The LDS church may be the biggest, but lots of the others (like the Community of Christ, formerly RLDS) have current beliefs and practices that are much closer to the church when Joseph Smith was alive.

Learn your history before you tell other people they aren't "real" Mormons. Also, check out the "no true Scotsman" fallacy. The Year of Polygamy podcast by Feminist Mormon Housewives is designed to be safe even for believing members who are concerned about the effect external information might have on their testimonies. The stories it tells of Mormon history are absolutely fascinating, humanizing, and eye-opening.

For those of you saying religion has no place in video games have obviously never touched a Shin Megami Tensei game lol. Now these are games that handle the material well and make you think and ponder about it, while being a huge part of the gameplay.
Anyway this app is hilarious!! Even though I cringe sometimes when media appropriates religions to make cheap and useless jabs at them just for the sake of it, I can recognize a cool and funny thing like this. I found it funny tbh. There are so many ways they can expand on the idea.
Btw what is up with people and Mormons lately? First the gay porn and now apps? LOL!

Yes. It looks like mostly gentle parody/association. But even if it was promoting e religion what's the big deal? If you don't like it, don't download it. Just like 20 years ago old people had to accept that if they didn't like South Park they just wouldn't watch it.

Fair enough on defining terms: active, practicing members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints do not practice polygamy. If the definition of 'mormonism' and Mormons extends beyond the LDS church then I don't consider myself Mormon, but am LDS through and through. With the whole Christianity thing, good point again on defining terms. I believe Jesus Christ lives today and is the Savior of the world. If the definition of a Christian involves the Nicean Creed then I'm not Christian - what I am is someone who has faith in and is trying to follow Christ.

I am quite aware of the history - you are correct that it comes down to terms, and the way I use the term Mormon is not the same way everyone else does.

On another note, we're aware that some of our doctrines are different and may seem 'weird' - the key is that those of us who try (emphasis on the try because nobody's perfect) to follow our faith generally turn out to be pretty good people (disaster relief, service projects, etc). Not that we or any group have a monopoly on that #

And I can guarantee any large organization wanting credibility would not slap their name on this game. It might be fun, but - professional? Promotional? Not. If you made it to the end of this post, thanks for enduring lol.

I wonder how long until this thread is burned to the ground by the mods?

Totally wrong, I am not atheist but who I believe in is just between me and he/she/it, and I am not old, but where I live (Japan) is one of the only country in the world where people don't ask/care who you believe in and where people don't categorise you. My wife is Filipino and she is, just like all Filipino and Latino, religious which isn't a problem for me as I respect people's belief. But I don't like when people are promoting their religion, I don't like those propaganda especially when they are targeting the younger ones like my kids. My son once came back home with a very small manga he got for free on the street given by Jehovah which really upsetted me to the most, and this game right here is doing exactly the same, all kids love temple run, so by making a temple run alike game they are trying to promote their sect through this game which should never be allowed by Apple! Let's see what you would think if Islam were doing the same, would you be so kind to the dev? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Islam, I was just giving an exemple

Yeah you just said the same thing with more words. You don't like people promoting religions, we get it. Some people don't like liberal views or sexual themes, but it's a free market and it's all allowed. If you don't like it don't download. If you're afraid of your child being influenced, monitor the media they consume.

My comment will be sort of off topic but not totally becuase Anova talked about it sort of. I believe a lot of parents religous or otherwise don't parent. Anova talked about monitoring the things that children do. What ticks me off about parents these days is they will bitch about violence in video games and want them banned but won't bother to find out anything about the games they buy their children. Bullshit like this needs to stop, do your job as a parent and actually parent.

Does dexter promote killing people? Does moby dick promote killing whales? Roots-slavery? Ted-smoking pot with your teddy bear? Works of fiction are to be enjoyed and maybe learned from. If YOU don't enjoy them don't read, watch, play them (does this include the news?)
