So this is a Zelda clone? I don't know much about Zelda, but the tree that was in the video did look quite a lot like the Deku Tree. Some other things I noticed in the video: - The character was wearing brownish clothes. He was too far away to see if he has elf ears. - There was some horse riding, with a button on the HUD which looks like it's used to mount/dismount from the horse. - There were some sections with lava, fire and bridges crossing over the rivers of lava.
Talking tree: Check. Navi-looking green sprite thing: Check Horse: Check Lava (temple)? Check. Epic landscapes + lone hero: It seems like it. Gratuitous "legend" reference at end of vid? You betcha. Wouldn't be surprised here if the game was called "The Saga of Selda" or the "The Folklore of Zilda" or even "The Mythos of Zeldi" And I also wouldn't be surprised if I dropped $6-7 on it and loved it.
Definitely looks like a Zelda clone. Be sure to go "vote" for it on their Facebook page so that they will reveal it sooner.
Sorry, but you don't get my endorsement by dangling shiny things in front of me and then pulling them away, saying "maybe if you click go to this social tab and boost my numbers I'll show you the rest." I like Gameloft, but I hate this marketing strategy.
Gameloft's marketing department sure loves to play games. This nameless IP gets an ingame trailer before Starfront Collision. Looks nice though.
Could Gameloft really pull of a "Legend of Zelda" or "World of Warcraft" type game? I admit they're games are usually pretty good, but both of those games are legendary "Gems", and countless developers have tried to recreate the same feel, most failing. I just can't see a company like Gameloft pulling off something worthwhile here.
im reluctant onbuying this game if this actually is Zelda type game, because pulling off such an amazing game like the Legend of Zelda is nearly impossible especially by a company like gamelft.. Although gameloft does make some good clones, they will never make games that equal to the originals.
