That's a problem with cover-based shooters, not just this game. I feel that's why it got so much flak though, which is unfortunate.
tbh i dont think this is a fair assessment. I think all action/shooter games on the ipod and many on consoles are the same way. You forgot to mention that there's small puzzles, stories, and simple cutscenes in the game to move things along so it's not all "cover, stop, shoot." Anyhow back to your point, if this is what you think then I'd say every shooter/action game on the ipod is exactly the same because regardless of any story they put in, you're going to end up PLAYING the game which means shooting enemies over and over until they die. I mean what else are you supposed to do? Yell at enemies into the mic until they run away?
It´s not about what that you do the same all the time, it´s about how FUN ist is. E.g. Half Life and Red Faction 2 are both shooters. But while the first is engaging, varied, challenging, good weapon feeling and gives you that feeling of accomplishment the second fails to deliver on all except variety. So there is a line on how the gameplay mechanics make or break a game. And ShadowGun certainly does not make it.
.....in your opinion. I thought it was great, i've sunk way more time into this than i ever did with mc2 and nova2.
Yes. We love you MFG. I'll be looking fwd to any games you guys put out. From this title I can tell you guys are dedicated to the highest quality games and for that I'm a huge, HUGE fan.
thanks man.. btw, we submitted new update to Apple. ******************************************* ☺ Decreased memory requirements ☺ Faster loading times, up to 2 times ☺ Invert vertical look is working We saved addition 6 MB of memory, game should be stable now. But please reboot your device before playing SHADOWGUN. Please update your reviews on iTunes. We are reading your feedback and doing best to improve our game !!! ******************************************** Now we will work on MP only... btw, we got a lot of ideas from you and we will implement a lot of them
I finally had the opportunity to play this over the weekend and must say that I really like it so far. I'm excited to hear that you were able make optimizations, hopefully this makes it run even better on my iPod Touch 4G. Thanks again for actively supporting this game. I'm hoping that some other additions come out for melee attack and maybe thrown grenades(?)
Yep i'm enjoying this game a lot, looking forward to that update. Love the graphics, its even better with headphones on playing this.
I've played four levels so far, and while the graphics are great, the enemies you face are all the same. Every time a dude dies its the same animation. The game gets repetitive real fast. 9mm for example is a much better purchase than this. Hopefully the multiplayer update will change my opinion.
I don't agree. IMO ShadowGun is much more polished than 9mm, and MFG dedicates more time to taking care of their product than Gameloft. And 9mm is also a bit repetitive in the scenarios, albeit not as evident as ShadowGun. In fact, GL can't even dream of nurturing & taking care of their creatures half as much as MFG do for their games. Of course it's my opinion. No more, no less.
