yeh is it a dollar? how much will it be need to know because then i can make sure i have the money on release date which is?......
oh ok great if i dont win it'll be a insta buy and if i win a promo in the level creation contest ill probably buy it anyway to support you guys, i have a friend who would love this game so i could give it to him
Additional control scheme involving a touch control for stabilization would be great. For example a slider or buttons for tilting for those of us who like to play in bed or suspended upside down like batman.
I read an article recently that you guys were getting hell from some organization for the implied racial connotations presented in the game? This stuck out in my mind because I had made a comment about this a month ago and then first week in Feb. the local news here, KTLA runs the story and I remembered your app from TA lol. How did that turn out? http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-smuggle-truck-game,0,3407013.story I'd still buy the app once it comes out, however I think it's interesting you state in your description here that you are carrying cargo and in your response to KTLA (and the backstory on your website) you state that the game is based on your friend's struggle in combating US immigration to make it across our border. Is this true? Or was that created to circumvent the accusations being made against the game? Also is this friend part of your development team?
Indeed. Lots of news outlets have been reporting on an apparent controversy over this game, quoting a couple of people who are opposed to the game. Read our story here and why we created the game: http://smuggletruck.com/story.html. It turns out that many venues support us in our endeavor to make a game that speaks openly about a political subject (PC World, for example http://www.pcworld.com/article/218971/is_ios_game_smuggle_truck_as_controversial_as_it_looks.html as well as many other sources are buzzing about how absurd the controversy is). Like many games, this idea was formed from our real life experiences and we felt like we had to comment on a political situation. As for our friend who was having all the trouble immigrating, he wanted to remain unnamed due to the fact that the immigration rules keeping him in the country were so fragile that going into too many details regarding his situation could be potentially hazardous for him. We respect that and are keeping his name private but talking publicly about his struggle and how we'd like to see change in that regard.
Haven't seen this posted yet, but saw Owlchemy mention it on twitter. I'm not really a fan of George Lopez but this is pretty hilarious: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Hilarious, well there you go - with George Lopez endorsing your game you definitely won't be getting any flack from the hispanic community. Grats on the exposure, man that's pretty big - lots of people watch that show here.
Few more pics to hype you guys up! This game is AWESOME!!! Look! An actual Alien: I think I'm stuck. Heres what NOT to do:
New video of the game in action, frontpaged on TA: http://toucharcade.com/2011/03/08/gdc-2011-an-early-look-at-smuggle-truck/
They've already announced that it will be either $1.99 or $2.99. And I personally don't think that is being greedy. This is a great game with polished graphics and is definitely worth the price.
