Wow sounds amazing thanks!

This is my favourite Sonic game. I know Sonic 3 + Knuckles is considered best but S2 has many great memories.

 

iCade supported?

 

As the description says, this game now runs buttery smooth compared to the previous sega port. If you have the updated version of sonic 1, you know what to expect in this one.

 

I'm with you. Sonic 2 was actually the first video game I remember playing. I downloaded it for iPhone a few years ago, but hadn't had it for a while. I got Sonic CD and Sonic 1 Remastered, but with both of them I was just thinking, 'I wish this was Sonic 2.' Now it is!

And with a new zone! That's amazing!

 

I just realized this is now technically "Sonic 2: Special Edition."

 

I want to know too!

 

Tails can now fly on his own as well as give sonic a ride like in sonic 3! Be careful though, it's killed me more than once in the water because tails caught me instead of letting me jump out. Oops!

 

Nope - probably the only disappointment for me here as it's a great port excepting lack of iCade.

 

So how do i access that "new" level? Am I supposed to unlock it? I'm at wing fortress zone already.

 

I got the game last night and yep, no iCade -- must write to the developer!

(so much for no-app-to-purchase week, so many great stuff jumping out from vac)

 

But Sonic 1 does have icade support, right? I thought I read that it did.

 

Confirmed, no iCade!!! I have written to Sega US CS about this.

 

I just re-downloaded Sonic 2 onto my iPad from the US App Store and the old version downloaded! Has the update been pulled?

Edit: I check App Store and it showed an update for Sonic 2. Downloaded the update and it is the new version. Hope people don't buy in excitement, see the old version and not realize they have to update.

 

I just beat the game and I love the addition of the

extra scenes at the end. Especially Knuckles's eyes in the bushes

 

What an incredible remastering, just like the sonic 1 & CD. Hope to see sonic 3 arrive with Taxmans update. But I really want to see Streets of rage series get the same treatment. C'mon SEGA... Give Christian the rights to work on that project too!

 

Anywhere else we can push the inclusion of iCade to Sonic 2?

I've found and beaten Hidden Palace two ways (PARTIAL SPOILERS):

• by choosing Mystic Cave from the level select of a "Completed" game save
• by choosing Mystic Cave 2 from the level select in the debug menu

Both times, I got no achievement. Do I actually have to play through the campaign from the beginning on a new save slot, and find and beat Hidden Palace that way, to get the achievement? Anyone know?
