About the balance for the current characters.

The balance for those characters was done with the 2013 version in mind. Every attack gets the damage from 2013, but some attacks get some effects that aren’t from 2013. For example, since Guile isn’t that good in the current version of the game due to the limited normals for each character, j.MK crosses up, just like in Volt.

About the new moves, they will have the same effects (blockstun, hitstun, damage, effects on CH, etc.) from the 2013 version.

About the move lists for the new characters.

I’m sure that most people will find strange that some characters have more than one version of the same move, like light and heavy for a special move or j.MK and j.HK at the same time. That’s because some versions have some unique effects that the character in question shouldn’t miss, but also because of balance.

For example, Ken. Why does Ken have Heavy Shoryuken and Light Shoryuken? Well, that’s actually not the correct question. The question would be: why would people play Ken instead of Ryu? Ken is a rushdown character, that’s true, thus he should be rewarded with powerful combos and many options, but if we take a look at what Ryu can do with the current version of SFxT, he actually can pull off the same number of combos Ken could do with the “same” moveset (Heavy Tatsu, Heavy Shoryuken, etc.). Light SRK would give extra juggle for Ken at midscreen without the use of EX bars. That would be the first difference between both chars, since Ryu can still play rushdown without major problems and has more or less the same tools Ken has for footsies and such (minus the standing kicks), but he can’t do “long” combos at midscreen without bars.
Then, what would Ken win in the corner with the “same” moveset? Nothing. Ryu has something that Ken misses, the Joudan. That alone lets Ryu do some neat meterless combos in the corner. Ken could also benefit from the Light SRK in the corner.
Therefore, the purpose of Light SRK for Ken is juggling, while Heavy SRK is just to finish combos with big damage.

Then, there are also other characters that have more than one version of the same move. For example, Juri. Juri’s game relies on her fireballs, so without them she wouldn’t be that good, that’s why she has different commands for each fireball. The same happens with her “counter”. It isn’t a counter per se, it’s more like a teleport for mixups. That’s why she needs at least two versions of this move.

Finally, some characters have different air normals. That’s because some normals have some effects that would be great in some circumstances, but bad in others. For example, Juri again. She has j.MP, but also j.HP. That’s because they have "opposite" effects. While j.MP is a hard knockdown, j.HP is a ground bounce.

It should be noted that the moves from each character will have the same effects (blockstun, hitstun, damage, etc.) from the 2013 version, just like the new moves for the current characters, except some moves that are already noted, like Ibuki's j.HK. This means that moves that can be special cancelable in the console version will also be special cancelable here, and the same goes for attacks that can be canceled into stances (for example, Lei's st.LK into Snake) by pressing a direction in the joystick and such.

This is just text. I had to watch loooots of videos to see how characters work, best combos, what effect had each move, what normals could be used in boost combos, etc etc etc.

You should work for Capcom as game designer! You are better than lazy people that work as blogger in their pathetic website Capcom unity!

What properties? I gave some missing CH effects for some moves of the current characters, like Hugo's Hammer Hook, and I gave priority for moves with those special effects on CH for the new characters.

lmao Just saw the e-mail notification with your name and I knew you were going to ask iCade :p
But more than iCade I'd say controller support. By the time this petition is "released" iOS will already have official controller support. But yeah, I'll add it.

  19. Wow, your petition maybe longer than Apple's term and conditions.

If you add joystick support (please add icade too specifically), I will support this, without even reading all the fine print. :)

And it's still not finished, so you can already expect it to be longer in some time :p
    Ok, added.
