man, the anticipation's killing me. I've been checking the app store for it at least once every half hour today, haha.
You have to search for Super Quick Hook. I tried with Super QuickHook and nothing was found. Hope that helps. EDIT: You seem to have found it so ignore my post.
After playing through the first few levels I can safely say this game is amazing. Probably the most polished game I've brought on the ipod. It's given me so many retro smiles already, so many memories of amazing snes games. Worth waiting up ;-)
woo hoo, tis mine! very early first impressions do not disappoint. the attention to detail along with the 8bit stylee pixel resolution is well beyond my expectations. the scrolling is pretty smooth and havnt noticed any lag whatsoever. the screenies and video do not do this the justice it deserves. so yea, thumbs up for tha visuals. controlling the char is slightly different to the original HC. left and right digital buttons in the right corner with additionsn such as rocket boots added later on the left. the grapple action does behave very much like HC and is pretty intuitive as ever. the humour is there, the content is there and i got ma unlocked hats this was just 2 levels of mission mode. so far im impressed enough to recommend this without hesitation.
You can change this in settings. You can flip the walk controls to the left side like in most games, or you can ditch the walk controls and make the controls like Hook Champ's. I prefer the default mode, personally. Not until the first or second patch. OpenFeint saves didn't make it in for release. I'll be watching this thread constantly, reading all the feedback.
the man with the plan! cheers for that. think i prefer the default to. agree with the poster above regarding the music on the menu screen. such a funky retro ditty!
I'm really enjoying this game, and I love how if you rocket into something above you it propells you forward instead of slowing you down
The whole thing is utterly beautiful. Pinsharp 8bit graphics, great music, and most importantly real depth of play. With the scoreboard placed as it is (the beginning and end of each level) it's obvious that I'm going to get utterly sucked in trying to beat my highscores, the global ones, and more importantly the developer ones! (just beat my first one and unlocked a new playable character.) Improvements over similar parts to hook champ are evident too. The controls, whilst pretty good originally, feel even crisper. It's kind of hard to explain, but I think the best way is to say I much more accurately use the hook in this game than I did the last. Obviously graphics are improved too, but the fact that every zone looks very different, as opposed to a variation on a brown corridor, is great. Missed lots of stuff out, but it's 1am here, so I'm not themost lucid. Looking forward to wasting away tommorow morning playing this! Oops, nearly forgot. Definitely the best achievement writing in any idevice game yet edit: typos
yep it's designed that way, may come in handy no one commented on all the tasty achievements yet? where are thou achievement whores?
ROFL @ Achievement whores ;D Absolutely awesome game. I'm still learning the ropes >.> ... But I'm improving. I love customization, leveling up and all that, so this is perfect.
