Universal Swoc: of Swords and Blocks (by Baptiste Villain)

Was concerned about bugs so haven't picked it up yet. Will look for the update to go through and probably pick up after! Congrats on the update!

 

The game looks fine on my iPad after the update.

 

I also noticed that my iPod 5G doesn't utilize widescreen support anymore and looks squashed to the middle, the tiles are slightly rectangular.

 

The other thing to point out is I have played a bunch of games since the update without a single crash. Leaderboards seemed to be fixed as does the 500 point character unlock. Now a 5 star game for me.

 

That resolution issue is... unexpected :-( And it's a shame as I believed the font size fix will help playing on phones, now the game is looking worse on newer iPhones.

Anyway, I'm happy you didn't get crashes, and I'll try to find a fix for iPhones.

i'd love to try out this game, but it seems i'll have to wait for the next update (because i have an iphone 5s)

Just to let you know:
update for phone resolution issue has been submitted on wednesday and is waiting for Apple's review.

I have made it 33% bigger once more on my workcopy, it'll come in a few weeks with the big update I'm working on.
But anyway, I think it's a UI flaw, so I might never find the solution to have swoc 100% easy to read.

 

Big update? That is something great to look forward too.

I had my first Gamemaker crash with the latest version. It happened when I made a move with one of the game's messages up on the screen without touching the message to clear it first.

 

That looks like something I can easily reproduce, thanks for reporting.

 

Swoc was updated (v1.1.5) a few hours ago with a fix to all iPhone resolution issues.
The game now plays in fullscreen and does not look goofie anymore.

New update broke my game. Last time I played my character just disappeared leaving empty space and game didnt do anything after that.

Edit. Seems it freezes every time after few turns.

 

Hey, Swoc has been updated in V2.0.0 on both Android and iOS.

It includes interface changes :
- the font for character power is even larger,
- there is a small hint on top left to show you the current block spawning direction
- a few pictures present every character skill
- there is now a recap of all your best scores with each character.
It also includes tweaks to the quest system so they are more random (it's not always 15 trees to destroy as example, it can be more or less). And 2 more quests have been added based on match combinations with only 1 swipe.

And of course, it includes 3 new characters :
The shaman, throwing Lightning bolts


The Shieldmaiden, jumping and stunning here and there


And the Pyromancer, burning everything around

 

What device are you playing on please? And which character do you play?

Do you get holes in the grid before it freezes? It might be related to the warrior only, I'm on it.

 

Yep and it seems indeed it might be just warrior. Played a game with mage just fine.
