I know the feeling. Unfortuantely I really don't have the money to spend on every title that comes out. being poor sucks rofl
I guess my don't give a crap attitude is a good thing sometime. : D BTW: How the hell do you have the money to spend over $1K a year on apps?
Yeah, it's a terrible feeling. Hahah well I'm in high school senior year so I don't really pay for everything, and I got into Cornell early decision so I saved my parents over $500+ in college apps anyways. But um, you can say we're very well off, hahah. And I've spent below $800! lol. I've spent over 1k total in 2 years, that's what I meant in the other thread.
Haha yeah it's quite a bit to spend on iOS games, but like I said, it's not my money. I'm not in college yet..so I can't really pay for everything if I'm still sleeping in their house and stuff lol. I pay most of it myself in cash but yeah, parents make quite a bit.
Ever thought of giving a part of it to charity? Maybe some association that donates to Hungarian people who can't buy that many apps? /taking me seriously is a common mistake, don't do it!/
Definitely go with Aralon, cold porridge is far too overrated. But seriously, if you are 'that poor' perhaps an iPhone or iPod Touch wasn't the best financial decision
Well I got my iPod touch second gen back when I didn't have a kid and my wife and I had money to spend. Then it died. I got my 4th Gen through work and only pay $15 a month for it. I use it a a music player mostly, not a gaming platform. But I still use it as a gaming platform for work and at home when I am not playing my PS3 or 360. But since I am now the only one working, money has been super tight these past few months, so yeah finding it harder and harder to keep up with the addiction of buying good games, especially when so many good ones are coming out. I did set aside some for Aralon though, couldn't pass that one up. 2010 has just graced us with so many damn good games it's not even funny. I have quite a few of them, just not the more recent ones that came out But was it a bad financial decision? Oh f*ck yeah it was. hahaahahahaha
I don't even own Aralon, I have no idea whether it is good or not. I'm just pointing out the fact that half your list is hook games and Aralon.
I'm curious to know why you thought it was a disappointment as well. I'll give you the fact that it was Overhyped (it had a huge following, and rightfully so) but how was is disappointing? So it had a few day one bugs (that somehow the beta testers managed to overlook...?) but they patched the harsher ones up within days. As it stands, it's not the perfect game but by far the best Action RPG on iOS. Call me a Fanboy or whatever, sure I'll take that. But my point still stands. Just curious is all. It's a terrific game.
Great year This is only our 2nd month here and I have to say its great. I learned alot about peoples likes and dislikes. Also happy to see the landscape changing from mainly quick games to longer fuller games. The transformation is incredible and also alot of pressure. From the feedback we have gotten we decided to go into a more full game expirence in 2011. Thanks for all the help and insight to you guys here. Have a happy holidays!!!!
WOW! Just noticed we both made threads about almost the exact same topic just 6 minutes apart. Heres mine: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=77789

Most Overhyped: Aralon S&S (seriously the hype in this site was tremendous) Best Sci-Fi Game: Nova 2 Best RPG: Aralon Most Addictive: Game Dev Story Games You're Sick of Hearing about: Plants vs Zombies Best Oringinal Music: Tilt to Live im addicted to it XD Overall Game of the Year: Real Racing 2 (its the most console quality game out there)
Seriously best Port should be either World of goo, Plants vs Zombies, or GTA... Phoenix Wright is a good game, a half baked port. What with the whole bottom half being just like the DS's, obviously no effort was put into it, unlike WoG, PvZ, and GTA which all had amazing controls, affordable prices, and the touch screen mechanics were utilized well.
Short version: The combat sucks. Yeah that's my only gripe with the game. But when combat accounts for half the game, it's a big deal. I just wish it was turn based combat like Rimelands, that worked perfectly. What's wrong with that? I mean it is his list. Maybe he just likes Hook games that much...cuz I sure do
