The Room (short but perfect. a game that is polished in every way) Lili (just fantastic, great gameplay mechanics, heads and tails above other swipe to attack style games.. in this one you cant randomly swipe to win, nice design, variety of locations) Arc Squadron Eufloria Baldurs Gate (no probs with this, not sure what issues some people are having. my thief does her job, my party gets around just fine) Final Fantasy IV (minor UI issues but forgivable in comparison to the size of whats there) Max Payne (haven't had a chance to try some of the other frequently mentioned games, but I have played quite a few iOS titles this year, and these are the ones that stood out) honorable mentions: saturday morning RPG Myst 3D (sadly not a perfect port, but happy to have it on iOS nonetheless) Final Fantasy Dimensions (it is actually quite good, but the dungeon design feels somehow emptier, and more in your face loot-driven than FFIV. IMO IV is still the better RPG, despite flaws.) Dariusburst (fun, but short) Just started playing Ravensword Shadowlands and Orc Vengeance so I don't feel able to give an opinion on those yet, as neat as they look at first glance. OT, speaking of RPGs, I really wanted to recommend Lunar, as it's a classic RPG, but the interface port issues really dragged it down .

Well, Slide to Play listed Rayman Jungle Run as game of the year, and I think it for Sure deserves Runner-Up, but my game of the year... BASTION It's just... Amazing. I might even call it the Ocarina of Time of the App Store (hint hint Nintendo) So my list is... Bastion Rayman Jungle Run The Walking Dead Puzzle Quest Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Punch Quest Swordigo Arc Squadron Hero Academy Deepworld I do wish I had played any of Touch Arcade's picks, sorta imbarasing actually.
Puzzle Quest came out in 2009... Puzzle Quest HD and PQ2 both came out in 2010... Might wanna pick another title.

Was thinking the same thing. Strange to see so many new members pop up in a GoTY thread who've only been around here a very short while. I'll be curious to see how the newer members vote - if our normal fears of "stacking the vote" are legit. Might be harder to do in this poll, but has me curious too...

2012 was the year I really got into iOS gaming. I loved swords and sworcery but I think that was a 2011 game? My ranked top 10 would be: Bastion Walking dead Organ trail Triple town New star soccer Devils attorney The room Kingdom rush Rayman jungle run Galaxy on fire 2 hd My runners up would be : Burrito bison Toca band Nss is a very unlikely pick for me but credit where it's due I was addicted to this game for a good fortnight! Bastion, swords and walking dead are some of my all time favourite gaming experiences on any platform.
